From RW interview last night there are problems with both Drinan and Smith.Scans have revealed problems that could be serious.Smythe injured again with hamstring problems that will put him out for a week or so. We cannot go into the season with continuous problems with Smythe. Seems a problem that will be ongoing.

Are you saying Smith and Smythe are injured?

Seems to me, Smith & Drinan have both got injuries, that are not clearing up. Both had scans, and both were inconclusive.

This is worrying, as it now looks likely that neither will be fully match fit for the start of the season on 30th of this month.

We will be starting off with a major disadvantage

I Thought he said there were problems with the scans & would have them done back here . Then they would asses Drinnan &Smith then .

Really would not be happy going into the 1st game of the season with the current forward line we have, have to be honest if we do I cannot see us challenging for automatic promotion this season.
Injury prone Smyth, will be injured for more games than he plays
Target man Smith, good option from bench
Pressing Drinian, cannot play every game doing what he does best, high press on defenders.
Where is the the No.9 goalscorer?

We will be relying on Sotirou, Nkrumah and suggested loan player for goals, with Theo and Moncur chipping in as well.

Yep that is exactly what he said, Smyth has a tight Hamstring which given the issues he had isn’t a surprise.

Just hope we get a young kid on loan for the season, Stansfield from Fulham would be ideal.
Plus another winger.
Need a big squad so we can utilise 5 of the 7 subs if/when required, instead of struggling to field 18 players and more importantly playing square pegs in round holes week in week out.

So a Misleading opening statement on what RW said . :D

Yes , that’s what I thought he said as well . The club wasn’t happy with the scans so they will get them redone back home.

Bloody hell. Sounds like you guys have been watching too much Eastenders.

A week out is hardly anything significant.

Chill out. Normal niggles for pre season. Just relax everyone.

This was my understanding, (that they didn’t trust the scan).

If we don't get any cover in for Drinan, Smith and Sotoriou we'll do nothing next season

And in midfield too, can't end up in a position again where we end up needing to rely on Coleman and Brown

If we end up relying on Coleman and Brown again we could end up facing another relegation scare.

It's all very well telling everybody to chill out, but you have to be concerned that with just three weeks to the start of the season our best three players are injured
