Shame but didn't fit here.

And we’re about the 6th club he’s had where he hasn’t fit.

Got some ability but something is missing. I trust Richie to replace him with an improvement.

But good luck to the lad.

That means another CM definitely needs to come in now. Two out only Moncur in puts us back to no depth again. Really hope something comes of the Payne rumour.

How are we still left with Colebrown being anywhere near the XI all the other January signings have been binned off?

I’m surprised at that development. I liked the guy but don’t think he was given enough game time in midfield with the free rein to attack. I wonder if we got a fee

I think Khan is a good player and was by miles our best January signing . I liked him so it’s a shame to see him leave . Hopefully we’ll get somebody else in to replace him 🙏

I think we are no stronger than last season , I would be well disappointed if a couple of decent players didn't come in ☹

Was terrible at fullback. Looked half decent further forward. Seems like Grimsby will play him in his favourite position so should do a job for them even if not the sort to set the world alight.

I would keep Brown as back up but send Coleman out on loan .

Absolutely Ron . With only four weeks remaining before the start of the new season we’re currently weaker now than at the end of last season.

He will probably score against us in the opening game.
Tidy player but obviously RW doesn’t fancy him

It tells you Grimsby will be the tenth club of his career.

There’s some ability in him but it never quite works out anywhere.

I’ve no issue with him going, so long as he is adequately replaced.

Jack Payne (the Swindon one not the pointy finger one)

Rumours been knocking around about him being involved with us early on in the window then started up again last few days. Someone edited his Wiki page too as part of the rumour mill / windup

Signed on a free in January. Sold for a fee 6 months later. He played all over the place for us and didn‘t nail a position down. Good business.

IMO , it’s only good business if we can bring in a better replacement.

AS a midfielder, I liked Khan, as a full back he was terrible IMO. hope we find a better replacement.
Grimsby will have two players now, that will be working their bits off, to get one over us now, on the opening day

I think so too. Moncur chose us over them I doubt they’ll let it happen again and there’s not the element of “moving home & stability” with him either.

With that said - I’d have taken Moncur over him any day so we got the sweet deal.

Didn't fit Wellens plans so makes sense imo and the club has done well to move him on. I don't think it necessarily means we're bringing another central midfielder in, I would have thought it creates room for a player to play as cover for Smyth by playing on the wings or as a no 10. Even with Hector and Khan gone, we have 5 players for two central midfield slots, unless Moncur is playing the Smyth role and he then gets moved onto the wing.

And to think we were told Moss (terrible) and Khan (never a RB) were both good signings cover James

Definitely going to be a good watch seeing two ex players coming up against us, let's hope Smyth and Archibald steal the show

In terms of numbers yes but look at who two of them are...
