The Edinburgh family seem to have given notice that they are to run a campaign RE defibrillators in sports centres. I feel we owe it to Justin's memory to give this massive support. I have a vested interest, as I suffered cardiac arrest last August ( I keep banging on about this, but .... ). I am using every possible opportunity to advertise the merits of CPR. The ambulanceman gave me 10 minutes plus of this, to keep my ole ticker going. I have now survived another 10 months. Glen Hoddle has done a great job too . The stats are woeful. 90% of people suffering cardiac arrest in hospital, never get out alive. Unfortunately I am a bit of a retiring sort of person, but would love to do anything to publicise the need for defibrillators and CPR. I was lucky, I collapsed in the arms of an ambulanceman. Please do everything to back this campaign.

This from BBC news website:-The family of Justin Edinburgh want to change the law regarding the access to defibrillators at sports facilities, as part of the work of the JE3 Foundation.

Edinburgh, who led Leyton Orient back to the English Football League last season, died earlier this month from cardiac arrest, aged 49.

English law does not currently regard defibrillators as compulsory equipment.

"We are campaigning to get the law changed, call it Justin's Law," son Charlie Edinburgh told BBC Essex.

Share it on all fan pages , should get to 100k signatures easily enough.

Absolutely disgrace that the gym did not have one. They should be boycotted forthwith.

It is not difficult to get one as there are charities that will help with the cost and provide training in their use. Our village has one on the wall of the community centre, as well as one in the medical centre. They are not difficult to use as, once switched on, a voice tells you what to do.

Good cause, support it with widespread training. Everyone should know how to use one, no excuses.

Re Defibs in Gyms , how were this gym imcompetent
& negligent ?

There is 2 in the village where my old Dad lives
1 is in an old telephone box the other outside the village hall I believe the community had a whip round to buy them both

I use 2 gyms and I must admit I’ve never seen one in either

They do but the time taken to read them ain't helpful if the machine is needed immediately.
