That’s the way to do it, no messing around, one scumbag under arrest.

Apparently it marks you and they can pick it up later, maybe under UV light?

I fully support the police action.
Interesting the action of spraying with dye, reminiscent of the cash boxes and clothes tabs that if not opened the "correct" way, expel dye.

''Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott criticising the method, saying officers are 'not above the law.'
The Hackney MP tweeted: 'Knocking people off bikes is potentially very dangerous. It shouldn't be legal for anyone.
'Police are not above the law.' But officers from Camden Police, one of the London boroughs with the highest rates of moped-enabled crime– responded her tweet, saying: 'Someone who's responsible for law-making (or at least debating and ratifying new legislation) should probably realise that using tactical contact to terminate dangerous pursuits is entirely within our lawful power... And our responsibility.'

Abbott, expecting her to know the law? Or at least finding out before she speaks. No.

Long ago I realised that this forum is not a suitable place to debate anything other than football matters and subjects of a non political and non controversial matters.

Are you really this thick?
The response is irrelevant. She hasn't said that 'tactical contact' is illegal, just that it should be.
Tactical Contact is a great band name, by the way.

No but abbot said and I quote “they are not above the law” yet the police were acting fully WITHIN the law. Bizarre women.

She said it shouldn't be legal for anyone. Pretty clear what her point is.

Depends how you read the statement. Interesting police reply says it all really. But I do agree. Abbott’s response is irrelevant. Par for the course.

Jesus Christ.
Her 'response' to this incident is entirely relevant. She think that police officers should not be undertaking Tactical Contact and has tweeted as much.
This is getting embarrassing now, even more so than normal.

This kind of incident is rife in Jakarta Indonesia police will either shoot on sight or if your caught in the neighbourhood stealing etc you get beaten up strip naked and then set on fire
Wonder what Diane Abbot would make of that

How else do you stop a moped in those circumstances without tactical combat?
Or is that the point?

It's TACTICAL CONTACT FFS!
Tactical Combat split up in 1981 after their first and only album flopped. They were still trying to do that post-punk thing but were too late.

I thought it was you who used the words irrelevant and relevant when commenting on her response.
