No as it came off a Stevenage defender.

'Swings and Roundabouts' I'd say. Sotiriou was offside when the ball was initially released by Pratley which to my knowledge is what counts. However, something that doesn't seem to have been picked up and was not made much of, Connor Wood received a push in the back from Prosser just before he scored which put Wood off balance and giving him a clear header to score.
I guess that's football for you!!

Just to clarify, Sotirou's goal should have been technically disallowed because he was offside when the ball was initially released by an Orient player. A small slice off luck which we are more than overdue I'd say!!

No as it came off a Stevenage defender.
100% off side when pratley played the ball forward. The defender touching it does not then make him onside

You can’t see the whole way along the line to confirm he was offside.

Defending from both teams is poor, but we do appear to be slightly unorganised out of possession this season. We may have got away with one for our first goal, but as previously said, that’s football for you and it evens itself out. Their second goal is a tremendous strike, but I’m surprised the ball got that far, one of our CM’s appears to lose sight of the ball maybe.
One encouraging moment for me was seeing Ruel’s spirit after our 2nd goal - he wanted to get the game going again, and if the manager can get that attitude across the board, we should be ok.

Ruel has really played well since KJ has gone, wonder why the dramatic change in his form ?

He was in an offside position when the ball was passed to him but its the receipt and play of the ball that should trigger the offence ... if it strikes a defender on the way through to that player then no offence.
Offside offence
"A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played ... by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play ..."
