Were you watching the same match?
More like we’re you? Smith did win 99% today. Arguably one of the better players today.
That’s why Exeter was ready to let him go. Some goes for Nouble . League 2 squad players and it shows. I can’t remember a worse transfer window. It’s even worse than when we signed Gorman and Alabi. Our transfer committee has to take a long look hard at itself. If we’re not able to sign a manager’s first, second or even third choice I’d rather we didn’t sign anybody at all. A complete waste of money.Chocolate_brownie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 6:18 pmWho in their right mind would give Lego Head Ray more than a 3/10. About right. I thought Smith became bored of heading it. Hardly got a touch with his feet. Thompson so not a full back and Harold demonstrated why he’s not ready for management yet by keeping Theo wide right all game.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 8:19 pm Vigs - 6. No chance with either goal, decent kicking throughout our relentless back passing to him.
Thompson - 4. Clearly a centre back playing at full back. And a centre back lacking confidence. Offers zero offensively. Never shows for the ball.
Beckles - 5. Not the same player as earlier in the season.
Ray - 4. Laughable signing. So slow on the ball, we lose any impetus playing through him.
Wood - 5. See Beckles. Was a naughty foul on him that was totally missed by everyone.
Coleman - 5. A lot to learn.
Pratley - 5. Huffed and puffed but outnumbered in midfield with only Coleman and Yound around him. The applause as he was subbed was uncalled for.
Young - 4. Now is not the time for him. Little boy lost.
Ruel - 6. Much better decision making.
Smith - 7. Won everything.
Archibald - 5. Did literally nothing for 89 minutes then pops up with a worldie to earn himself a bonus mark. Clearly can’t/doesn’t want to play on the right.
Subs
Smyth - 5. Disappointing but was played too deep in midfield, he needs to be further up top.
Ogie - 5.
Harold - 4. The New Manager Bounce has delivered 2 points from 9 against 3 of the worst sides in this division.
Ref - 6. Lenient.
Crowd - 4. Angsty. Only 4,000 home fans.
Ling - OUT!
Nouble is one of the most baffling signings I’ve ever seen. It’s a guy who hadnt scored a single goal for a team IN A WORSE league position than us and we sign this guy on loan during a period where we couldn’t score for toffee.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 7:29 amThat’s why Exeter was ready to let him go. Reminds me of Mike Bassett picking the England team on the back of his cigarette box then says that choosing two third division players in Tony Hedges and Ron Benson was for the experience they bring to the squad !Chocolate_brownie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:28 amNouble is one of the most baffling signings I’ve ever seen. It’s just staggering. Who in their right mind came up with this?
It is actually worse than that because Benson & Hedges were put into the squad by mistake and Bassett is just trying to cover his ars* with the experience story.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:41 amReminds me of Mike Bassett picking the England team on the back of his cigarette box then says that choosing two third division players in Tony Hedges and Ron Benson was for the experience they bring to the squad !Chocolate_brownie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:28 amNouble is one of the most baffling signings I’ve ever seen. Whereas somebody (Jackett, Ling?) actually made a conscious decision to sign Nouble.
At least Mike Bassett made us laugh, some more great film clips here !Anthem of Hope wrote: ↑Sun Mar 06, 2022 9:56 am
Okay play this clip to the team before the next match just before they are to run out
That humour will relax them and everyone will be great a win will follow
I think I read Brian Clough before a major European match let them train by just going out for a walk and not even worrying them about tactics - they knew their tactics
If is ok for Brian it’s ok for Lofc to try something to lighten up mentally.
Looks like a player who divides opinion.
