McCann is favourite for the Posh job, if he's prepared to work for MacAnthony again he would seem likely.

And taking of Posh, no Fergie on the list?

It’s more about the players on the pitch really.
Ideally someone who can attract good players and with good contacts in the game.
Most thought that KJ was the right man but the players have let him down to a certain extent.
We created some excellent chances last night and couldn’t take one.

I'd vote for Russell Slade but his name isn't up there .

Let’s bring in Russell on a temporary basis to get us through our dire position. He came in towards the end of a season when he had 6 games or so to avoid relegation and he did it. The players are so low at the moment that they need someone to give them back some confidence to stay up.

Only if he can bring in Embleton and McAnuff as his coaching team .

Who do we want? The person who can get the team scoring enough goals to keep us up. Now, this may not be the same person who could develop the team on a longer term basis. Or do we really want a new first team coach, does Matt Harrold have the ability to bring the best out of strikers who have lost their confidence. Never ending questions and answers perhaps

You can’t second guess THE PROCESS.

Be patient, all will be revealed in good time once THE PROCESS has been allowed to run its course.

I wouldnt want anyone on the poll list.

It depends on what the board want. Do they want a quick fix to keep us up this season, then choose a long term manager in the summer, or do they want to choose a hopefully long term manager now?

I have no faith in the 'process', as its not worked 5 times out of 6. They seem to over complicate a fairly simple thing, by bringing all this analysis malarkey, which as i said keeps failing.

I would like Ling to go, or retire, as he seems to be causing this disconnect

As for who to get, well Darren Ferguson is now available, and a name thats been mentioned before, but not on the poll list, John McGreal, who did good things with Colchester a few years ago, and i believe still lives in Essex

It's good that we have a reliable process to fall back on.

Not usually a fan of short term appointments but in this case I think we desperately need someone who can come in and get instant results. We are, I believe, in serious danger now (and probably have been for a while). I kept thinking 'surely someone with Jackett's experience will turn this round' Clearly not. Sadly, I have no more idea of who the ideal appointment might be than the board do. But then it's their job to get it right, not mine.

Just had a look on BettingOdds dot com - so for what it's worth:
5/1 – Bircham
6/1 – Wellens
8/1 – Ferguson/ Adams/ Evans
10/ 1 - Grayson/ Johnson
12/1 – McAnuff
14/1 – Fowler/ Woodgate/ Warnock/ Powell/ Lambert
16/1 – McGreal/ Adkins
20/1 – Wild/ McCann
25/1 – Pulis/ Lennon/ Garrard/ Gray

And the list goes on – a fair few unlikely candidates there, so would take with a pinch of salt.

For those wanting Russell Slade he is now fully occupied running Global Sports and Technology in Wales a company looking after the interlectual property of players.

Embleton inherited a squad of players just out of Non-League without the best two players who were sold. Most are back non-league now. Jackett started with no players, in my opinion bought in a few good players, but the budget didn't allow for enough, starting the season with several less senior players than Embleton had the previous season. The players bought IMHO played some great football at times, but the wheels were always going to fall off the bus when the injuries occurred and we had to resort to ex academy players. The January budget appears to have been insufficient for the extra quality and quantity required. At the end of the day the players haven't been and aren't good enough. I'm not against the occasional academy player playing the odd game, but not multiple players learning their trade together.

Not sure what boarders are expecting, all things considered, I expect a bit more passion and attacking enterprise than seen of late. Its not easy when the confidence goes. As for the next manager, Jackett has a better win ratio than all those listed, bar one. Not many will get the one, THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT A VOTE AT THE TIME OF WRITING. Whilst the owners/DOF may be picking the wrong managers, I don't think the boarders know any better.

As much as he is a legend here, it would be a bad move he's not managed in a few years now.

Agree, my reply was a modification of the song rather than endorsement of him.
