A car was rammed off the road in Hackney containing two men who were then squirted with acid. By standers we’re throwing buckets of water over them to help.
It seems we’re are have of the highest attacks record of acid in the world per capita.
No arrests have been made yet. WTF is going on?

Ah, you mean The Sun, "quoting" ASTI, not necessarily the same thing.

I'm not an expert in this, but per head, what's is our police budget compared to the rest of the world? Acid attacks only seem prevelent in a very small proportion of the world, which surprised me.

A lot of it is gang related. Cuts and austerity have exacerbated the gang problem, hence a rise in these kind of attacks. It's all linear.

Shocking we appear to have one of the worst gang cultures in the whole world.
My understanding was a lot of acid attacks are religion/honour related, but I know moped related acid attacks are on the rise too.

Probably because we have a lot of different nationalities in this country who all bring their gang culture with them, which leads to competition, turf wars and copycatting.

Or maybe it’s just a financial thing I would have at a guess these products are cheaper than a knife gun and probably don’t leave much in the way of fingerprints etc

In reality I don’t think we probably do have high knife crime rates it seems to be the flavour for the media not just in London but around the UK
I was brought up in Leyton and they was always someone getting stabbed/shot/baseball batted etc nothing new to me

They might have similar issues but they are not going to be reported over here as their media isn't as sensationalist as ours.

So you agree the sensationalist media are overplaying it then? Interesting, cos that seems at odds with the rest of what you're saying. Glad to have you on board!

Its a crime that has been happening for quite a few years in amongst other Countries, India and Pakistan, especially when young women refuse the advances of men in courtship or marriage, its a mindset of ''If I cannot have you, then I shall make sure that no one else will want you ''
Such a wicked and barbaric thing to do, especially when done to young women as revenge for advances being rejected.

Brexit isn’t a trend then - the youth despise it.
