The version of RAOTW, played on Saturday was the "Aquostic" album version.

My guess is that someone played the "wrong" version via either Spotify or I tunes

Interesting that none of the music 'fans' on here seem to be aware that the well known Quo version is, itself, a cover. The John Fogerty original is much better.

I knew that but only because I bought the Rockin' All Over The World Album and read the album notes and artist credits from cover to cover.

Noting that Fogerty was credited as the song writer I conducted further research and discovered CCR. It was a right result. It wasn't easy finding out stuff in those days.

I seem to recall my inroad might have been a radio DJ who mentioned Fogerty and his band when playing RAOTW.

It’s embarassing. Can’t even remember when this became a thing, presumably some time late on in the Hearn era?

Very embarrassing. Almost as bad as the minor boxing celeb walk ons pre match followed by the players running out to We Will Rock You in the early Hearn era.

... And when Hearn (who still has the lease to our ground) thought it would be a great idea for the team to walk out to "simply the best". .. Plonker.

Not surprised. Springsteen and Fogerty became quite good friends and have collaborated on several songs. In 1993 Springsteen played on stage with Fogerty when he was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame
