Always a good interview from Challinor

The Pratley decision was crucial, another referee may well have given him a Red and as Challinor says, it was a massive turning point today.
It was a good thing that KJ took him off when he did.

What actually happened for him to have potentially been sent off?

He ran into trouble and got dispossessed with a potential counter attack on, so dived on the ball with his hands. Tbh, it was a definite second yellow and he was very lucky to get away with it, but I don't think his first was a yellow so it sort of evens out.

Handball in the opposition half - not exactly a bookable offence, especially when on a card. Thought the referee played it right by giving him a final warning. Wouldn’t have been the same issue if their defence wouldn’t have screwed it up for them immediately after.

Honest and fair assessment of the game from Challinor. We deserved to win (probably not 5-0 though) but the ref had a mare...as did the one against Walsall. in 50+ years of watching football, I've never seen the farce that happened after half time. For a moment, I seriously thought I'd had one too many in the supporters club :-)

As others have commented, Pratley possibly thought he was fouled and deliberately handled the ball, another Ref might well have given him a 2nd Yellow.

I like Challinor. I suspect he will be a decent league level manager for quite a few years

Our next manager after Jackett. Hopefully not for a few years though as I want stability and for KJ to be a success.

Hartlepool did nothing all game, we were pretty comfortable. He can't moan too much about the yellow, his team got mullered 5-0, it wasn't close. I really hate it when managers who concede goals to mistakes from opposition pressing, try to make out that there was no merit on behalf of the team that pressed them in the first place, or that they didn't desserve it - it's part of football, a huge part of football. Most goals in football come from mistakes from the other side. At this level it's not gonna be defence splitting passes for every goal or 30 pass moves.

Pratley probably should have been sent off, but I don't think his first was a yellow. Evens out, we had a run of home games with ridiculous refereeing.

Haven't seen Anthem of Hope for a while, but he's back spring more rubbish, as usual.
Challinor is a great manager, in the lower leagues, and there's no reason he wouldn't be great further up the pecking order.
I like the guy a lot.

I cannot agree with the above re Dave

The guy is pleasant and spoke before in other interviews very highly about Justin but that all I see in the love in with him.

Ok he beat us at Wembley

But in this post interview he rambled on moaning about a referee and then about the team in too many words - it was quite boring and lacking any real management quality

If we are successful with KJ and I think we will be we will one day get promoted at least once - matey Dave would not be suitable given the status of lofc
Also, if you look at the still image of the video in the original post he is touching his nose and we know how up in arms Orient fans get when someone does that in an interview.

He is a former Stockport player & probably
wants them back in the efl & there is always
a massive pay check as well .

A massive pay check will of course help, but it will still be difficult to win promotion from the NL this season.

Well that explains a lot of things to me Re the game
I think they only had one shot on target, I couldn't understand how they were 3 points better off than us.
Their forward line offered exactly nothing, the little blond guy upfront, a forward? never in a million years, they posed no threat they even had me fooled( which isn't hard before you slay me) were they that bad, or are we super-duper, but loved the game.
Great for T&T to get the reward Full house ? brill game good advert for the club few more like that and watch those numbers climb
