On Netflix, it’s only being watched because everyone has watched everything else on telly.

A typically crap amateur attempt from Korea to copy Hunger games (which is also crap). Feels like it was scripted by a 10 year old. Save yourself 8 hours and read a book instead.

Unrelated but this review has made me pine for one of Noose's reviews.

Watched one episode. Could barely make head not tail of it all so decided to f*** it off and watch the Blair / Brown doc instead.

Don't take my word for it though as I declared Breaking Bad to be bollocks on first viewing and then binged on the whole thing in about 2 weeks. Squid game might be decent for all I know but the subtitle thing did me head in and it's a lot of dead bodies which tends to put me off my dinner as I'm a squeamish old trout.

As I put it in the TV Watching thread:

Squid Games: overhyped rubbish with terrible overacting and hackneyed stereotype characters. No idea why it’s become Netflix’s biggest ever show…

I always watch foreign language stuff with subtitles, including other Korean ones, but this one I had to switch to dubbed pdq.

Hunger games is a poor rip off of "Battle Royale" in my opinion but the childrens games were a nice touch in squid games. Red light green light being my favourite.

Will happen in a Tesco superstore near you soon. With Xmas coming and shortage of action men, things could get fun
