Not sure why no one has put them up yet, people don’t seem to like discussing Orient when we win.

Vigaro 7. One outstanding full stretch save to keep them out when they were threatening to get back into it, not much else to do again.

Mitchell 7. Better than last week, plays older than his years.

Beckles 7. Commanding again.

Happe 6. Little bit off after a few games out but never troubled.

James 8. Best game for us. The wing back role really suits him.

Wood 7. Another solid game. The wing back role doesn’t suit him as much but with Theo ahead of him, it doesn’t matter.

Clay 6. Sound enough, loads of work as always but clearly the least talented of the forward 7 players.

Pratley 7. Same as ever, understated but so effective. Noticeable when he went off.

Drinnan 7. Really like him in this supporting right side role. Smyth will struggle to get back in ahead of him.

Smith 7. Getting better game by game. Pretty evident that his initial poor form was just down to fitness and Covid.

Archibald 8 rightly MOTM. Love him as everyone does. Lots of pace and skill but it’s his work rate and commitment that really stands out. I don’t like him centrally though, needs to be kept out on the wing.

Hector 6. Done ok but not enough to dislodge Clay.

LV 7 A massive save at 2 nil
James 8
Wood 7
Beckles 7
Mitchell 7
Happe 6
Clay 6
Pratley 7
Drinan 6
Archibald 9
Smith 6

Seems like I am being harsh on the ratings but Oldham were really poor.
Smith was injured for the majority of the 2nd half and did really well to complete the match and notch a goal.
Archibald was sensational and Tom James did really really well.
Excellent result, I am well pleased.

Not much difference in how I saw it.

Smith is ok, right?

Saying Oldham were poor is hugely wrong. For large parts of the game they matched us and could have scored. We needed the third goal.

Isn’t it wonderful to have attacking ability down both sides. James can feel a bit aggrieved at not getting the MOTM award, but Archibald was well deserving of that accolade. Will be gutted if he goes back to Lincoln.

Competitive and enjoyable game.

I agree. Vigers had to pull off at least two good saves otherwise Oldham could have been back in the game. I also agree about Archibald . I'd like us to try and sign him on a permanent basis . He's already a crowd favourite .I'd just like to add Drinan is also looking like a shrewd signing . Despite what the Ipswich fans were saying about him I'm now glad we have him on a two year contract .

Anyone notice after smiths injury a good 4/5 times he seemed to be walking/jogging then what seemed like his knee would give way? Noticed it quite a bit. He was certainly struggling most of that second half but obviously didn’t want to come off- hopefully now the adrenaline has gone there isn’t anything to serious with that.

Yeah, surprised he stayed on as he was clearly struggling. Seemed daft to risk aggravating something when the game was already won.

I like the way Jackett has mixed things up with this team: he's brought height, muscle and speed into the side. And yes, it's noticeable how Drinnen even looks comfortable and adaptable out wide. And Clay has no doubt, been encouraged to have more shooting practice. (he also had two good shots on target last week) The whole team is looking solid and together. This of course is all down to having a 'proper' management team with total control. I don't wish to get too ahead of myself, but there's a buzz down Brisbane Road way at the moment and things are looking good. Long may it last!

Was it just me, or did anyone else think that we didn't actually play that well on Saturday. There were periods in the game when we couldn't get the ball and couldn't keep it when we did. Oldham were really poor and I wonder whether against a better side we might have struggled.

I know it sounds ridiculous after winning 4-0, but did anyone else think the same as me?

Yep, I thought that too.
you can only beat what's in front of you of course and Oldham were very poor.
Their defence was nowhere for at least 3 of the goals but I certainly thought we could have been better.
Just as well for them that we weren't though, or we'd have been looking at a cricket score.
