Braintree game.

Post by RBMarshall »

Looks like the Braintree game has sold out.
So given their average home attendance is 667
Why can't we reconfigure the away section to hold a few more Orient fan's and still comply with any segregation requirements?
I know it's probably a lot of work for just a few more ticket sales but it would mean a lot to those fans and it would improve the atmosphere in the ground which is what we always hear the management and players going on about.
Failing that does anyone in those flats do airb&b? it's that desperate. 😁

Good point. We are going to look pretty stupid if there are loads of expected empty seats in the away section.

How do you propose the ground is segregated? The cost of works to segregate the fans, would included, probably need for extra/ segregated turnstiles, toilets, catering etc.

The cost is likely to be far more than the extra income the club would obtain from selling the extra seats made available..

I contacted Danny Macklin earlier today regarding the Braintree game and he has confirmed that your suggestion is actually being implemented.

Don't think Orient have put men on the moon. The nearest we have come is putting a ball on the moon in our hoof ball days.

Is there any point in the Braintree fans coming? They're already down. Would be cool to see the ground full of Os fans.

Also if all seats are used we should get 9,000? Unless of course the ground isn't actually at that capacity?

Even if all seats were sold, there would be unlikely to be 9000 there as inevitably some people with tickets won't attend, EG family emergencies, growth issues, transport problems etc

They should just make it unsegregated but only sell tickets to away fans in the last block of the East Stand.

Can’t we put the Braintree fans on the terrace of one of the flats and take the whole of the east stand back?

Give them a hundred tickets in the corner of the east stand lower, they are not going to be any bother at the bar or in the undercroft of the stand.

This - the home game ended up being unsegregated in some areas, so that they could get the O's fans in and take their money.

Eastleigh only had the bottom of the south side of the east stand and the upper tier was assigned to home fans as an overflow. There was a hastily created Home Supporters sign on the turnstile, but it wasn't needed as there was spare capacity on the north side of the east stand.

They have done what I suspected and given Braintree a small area in the South east corner with no segregation in the bar and toilet area but with extra stewards on duty. We have given them 317 seat which will probably 150 too many.

Braintree had a gate of 331 on Saturday v Fylde. They should all get in if you take off the 14 away supporters that Fylde brought down.

Does the league set down a minimum entitlement for away fans at all?
