I’m never completely keen on events that require judges to decide on an “artistic merit/quality of execution” score (skateboarding, eh?), but pleased that Tom Daley has finally got to the top of the podium.

Favourite moments so far the Aussie swim coach giving it the sex thrust celebration (a new meme, for sure) and the Dutch cyclist who celebrated winning the women’s road race yesterday, not aware that she was second behind an Austrian breakaway rider the peloton didn’t realise was way ahead
