I hope so too. It means Thompson won't be under pressure to get back too quickly

Ogie is a good young player, maybe his breakthrough season.

He has coped well against Michael Antonio and Lucas Moura, but can he handle Ian Henderson?

Should have been last season but Wombleton didn't like him apparently.

Agreed, Ogie looked good today, very quick and calm in possession

Thought Ogie looked good in a pre season game at Harlow a couple of years back. Pleased for him that he will be pushing for a first tram spot this season. And always handy to have a guy with a good long throw.

Yes remember that game, I spoke to Justin after the game and he was full of praise for Ogie, said he was very good for his age and hoped he would continue to progress in the future.

Well, looks like he is starting to fulfil Justin's hopes.

Early days but seems too me that Kenny might give the young players more of a chance to get some games in the first team than has happened in the last few seasons, we shall see !

He’ll be cover. Agreed he’s done ok so far but he won’t be forcing anyone out of the team.

Hopefully he’ll benefit playing under a manager who won’t throw him under the bus after giving away a penalty

The season he had at Dover did him the world of good but he looked a proper centre half today rather than a full back which is where Embleton saw him.

Yeah, definitely looks a centre half.

Although don’t like him playing on the right hand side!

Yes he’s very left footed but I thought he was excellent although I wasn’t sure if he was slightly caught out for the Spurs goal.
At first I thought it was Beckles playing alongside Happe, has he not featured as yet ??

You could analyse that all day for me no ones fault, but a superb pass by Luca Moira and a smart finish by Scarlett premier quality. Beccles is still playing at the Gold Cup for his country and will be there at least another week.

You mean he might decide to give more game time to the young players who are now more mature and further along their development curve than they were previously?

Nothing to do with us having just 12 senior players, either.

Sometimes that necessity creates the sort of opportunities for the likes of Ogie and they never look back. I think Harry Kane got his chance at Spurs due to an injury crisis…….

Same as Rashford. Brought into the squad due to injuries then Martial got injured in the warm up so Van Gaal started him. Scored 2 goals.

Ogie is a left footed like Dan Happe but has more pace than Dan, might be that as the season progresses, that he may climb above Dan in the centre back pecking order, will be interesting to see what happens as the season progresses.

It will be Happe and Beckles I reckon

He won’t. Not this season.
