Watch the game for a£5 Not a lot to say . At times it was men against boys. Areas of concern. New goalkeeper. Must get a right back don’t know who was suppose to be playing there. Cisse was his usual self giving the ball away needlessly. Captain played centre half with Happe who did not play a bad game . Front 3 hardly in the game . Smythe outpaced a defender with pace and shot just wide. We require at least 2 forwards and a right winger. Clay did a lot of running about without achieving anything. The first team played for 60 mins and then we made 8 changes bring on a lot of the acamedy players. Not a lot of change with Happy hitting 50 yard passes forward to players who had to chase. KJ has a lot to do to get away from the Embleton way of playing. Dundee were only average and should have won more easily.

Thanks for that scathing assesment of players in their first proper game of pre-season after training for a week. Jesus christ.

Scottish league cup starts next week, think their leagues start at the end of July.

Dundee had their first friendly game on June 26th. Two days before our training started.

But there a side that was together last season and got promoted for Christ sake

Think they were back a bit earlier. Dundee's 1st pre-season game was 10 days ago, and their first competitive game is a week today.

But it's still good fun to lose your sh*t over the first pre-season friendly.

PUMPED by Dundee's fifth best team has to be a worry.

They would have been if Kenny was our manager last season. Remember we’ve just seen 40 goals walk out the door. Played properly and we could have achieved something.

Both Thompson and Beckles were absent today and they would undoubtedly have made a difference.
Can’t read too much into this defeat and KJ will know where he needs to strengthen.
Vigouroux must be on his way I guess , not making this trip, not sure why no news on where he’s going.
As others have commented, 40 goals have left in DJ and Wilko, so I hope we can bring in a decent striker .

Yup, this pretty much confirms what we already knew, that Vigo has played his last game for us. The rest? Not too bothered about the result, tbh.

This result is of no consequence, but time is moving on and we are 5 or 6 players short.
In 2018 we left it late and ended up with Alabi and Gorman.

Not true that we left it late. Gorman signed on June 14 and Alabi signed on June 26.

Sorry but I was only commenting on the game as I saw it. We offered nothing in attack and there was nothing to give me any hope that we have a proven goalscorer yet.

Our best signing in recent years Kevin Lisbie signed in September, so it shows that playing the long game with ore or 2 squad places can work.

Even more relevant now with the number of players available and reduced funds of most clubs, It's certainly what I'd do if I was KJ.
