Why do OAP's get discounted Season Tickets?

If clubs like Orient and others didn’t offer OAP’s and Kids discounted tickets then I reckon attendances would fall like a stone.
I would guess that our fan base is around 40-50% over 65, many wouldn’t bother if they had to pay full whack.
Just my opinion of course, but interesting to hear what others feel.

You expect the club office to ask for your last 2 years tax returns and 6 months worth of bank statements when processing OAPs applications?

Again, there's an element of sense behind your obvious wummery - lots of OAPs are indeed very wealthy. But lot's aren't and it would be difficult to roll back on those people.

The 'disabled' ones at the club are my biggest gripe. Bloke I used to sit near in the SS, who will probably be known to lots of you, used to claim for a disabled ticket plus one for his non-existent carer, even though he was working full time as a cabbie. Even worse, two of his disabled Millwall mates used to do the same, so he had 6 tickets for free.

His ageism has been a major driver in his thinking for some time now. I have concluded that he is just bitter.

He needs to do what the olds did when they were his age and that is to get up off of his arse, pull himself up by the boot straps and achieve something more in life than being a full time Mod on a L4 football team MB.
