Looking forward to this announcement when it drops..
Would love to see Celtic and Rangers in the Prem though, (throw the cat amongst the pigeons kinda thing) and of course the big 6 stay as they are, but if the top 6 go away, then that’ll trump the Prem hands down and push the PL down the potty hole.

The new proposed "Swiss format" of the Champions league is the start of moves towards a Super League. On the poitive side it promises to be spine crackingly tedious. What it's really about is creating a format with no relegation. This is what large Yank and Arab investors really want to protect their investments. I think the time has come for fans to boycott all European competitions, including the Euros. They should also boycott all sponsors and TV companies/media outlets associated with them. It's the only way to stop the greed that will end football as a competitive sport. As for the Old Firm, they're already responsible for the emasculation of Scottish football and I'd rather they kept their sectarian poo poo in Glasgow.

So what happens to the likes of Orient. The premiership goes down to 14 teams? Not feasible, therefore do more teams have to be promoted from each division to account for the lost teams. What about TV rights.

Yank & Aarab involvement = ruination. It began ages ago & the sheep thought it was a good thing LOL.

This only affects the champions league. So they’ll compete in this new super league format rather than the champs league. Basically their sidestepping the champions league for security of the money they get

I am pretty sure it was Arsenal who drew 1-1 with Fulham.

i see Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and two others. I guess it must be Manchester City and Leicester City as they are the only other League Champions this century.

Football is now a World product, so keeping the elite sides in national leagues make no sense. Apart from the occasional blip, normally the same sides win and qualify for the European competitions.
At Orient, every season starts with the possibility of finishing in the promotion places. This is the same for almost all clubs around our level. In the PL, this is only a realistic possibility for around a 3rd of clubs. I have never seen the attraction in knowing that every season your club will lose more games than they win. Only relegation could improve that statistic.

Yeah exactly. Issue now of course is the PL have to approve them playing in it, which they won’t and have basically said they won’t as their against it. So basically puts the biggest attractions of the PL against the league itself, only way they could do it without approval is to leave the PL which of course they can do

The should start their own league. Aside from the freaks that were Leicester it’s the same 4 or 5 at the top every year anyway so what difference does it make. For EUFA to be calling them out saying it’s all about the money is laughable. They have ruined the game along withe sky.
For the teams that stay we should have some sort of draft system like they do in the U.S. What a great league it will be every year when you literally have no idea who will win.

Surely this has to breach anti-monopoly law creating a league where there's no way in for other clubs?

Of course, you’ve never said Premier League money should filter down the leagues

Class from Neville, he's sticking up for the beautiful game and everything that makes it what it is today. Kinda ironic it coming from Sky who would be one of the main broadcasters of such a competition but we'll overlook that for now as the message is bang on.
Dock those 6 clubs 12 points each for bringing the game into disrepute. Maybe more at they're trying to do far more damage than a club going into administration and that's the punishment for that particular crime.

In Layman's it looks like the big six are going to have their cake and eat it.

If they try to go ahead not only will the FA throw them out but so will UEFA they won’t have access to referees and officials for a start, the players will likely be banned from international football. It’s possible that the government might even revoke their licenses to hold matches.
I can’t see this happening give it a week and clubs will be back tracking like there’s no tomorrow.

It all stinks of a bargaining tool for either more share of tv rights and money or something like guaranteed qualification to the champions league for certain teams

If it means the Ugly Sisters can leave Scotia/Alba for the EPL I'm all for it.
