Sure why not dream about making the play offs. You’ve got to have a dream, if you don’t have a dream, how you gonna make a dream come through

At least we’ve given ourselves something to play for now instead of just playing out the season.

For a few days at least, won't hurt. It will be all over by teatime next Monday of course.
Re: **Dare we dream about the playoffs?**
I think this is the 3rd time this season we have won 3 games on the trot. We've then gone on to a losing run each time. If we can win the 2 Easter games and some stumblings above us then it's there in our hands.

I know what you mean but Mansfield and Walsall are both below us in the league . I’d like to think we could get something out of both of those gamesThe Mindsweep wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 11:27 am For a few days at least, won't hurt. It will be all over by teatime next Monday of course.

Which is exactly what Jobi said he wanted to be in with a chance, he given the club that opportunity and hopefully the players grasp the nettle and go for it.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 10:23 am At least we’ve given ourselves something to play for now instead of just playing out the season.

Re: **Dare we dream about the playoffs?**
Lots of those above us lost today. I reckon one, maybe two of them will go on a dodgy run and only get another 10 points from now to the end of the season. It’s whether we can put in a near flawless run in that time to catch them. Could be interesting.

Re: **Dare we dream about the playoffs?**
If we are in scorching hot form going into the play offs - which we are going to have to be to make it in - then we have every chance of doing something as we’ll have the momentum and the form. And as we are likely to make 7th and not higher we’ll face 4th who in all likelihood had secured their place a few games earlier and might have been just ticking over, hopefully making it harder to raise their game; they might have just missed out on an automatic promo place too as it’s really tight up there and that might affect their mentality and performance as well. This could be fun...

Won’t need to be near flawless. With 8 games left, 16 points will probably do. W5 D1 L2.Walthamsto wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 7:02 pm Lots of those above us lost today. 75 points is pretty much nailed on and that is only 19 more points. W6 D1 L1.

Re: **Dare we dream about the playoffs?**
On Monday Newport play Bolton, they will be hard put to win so every chance of going above them. Exeter play Mansfield at home, given Exeter's recent form a draw might be on the cards. Every chance then for us to be in plays offs come Monday night

71pts gets you into the playoffs in 7 of the last full seasons. With our goal difference we will need 16 more points. Big ask but doable.RientO wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 8:12 pmWon’t need to be near flawless. With 8 games left, 16 points will probably do. Re: **Dare we dream about the playoffs?**
I don't necessarily think it's as formulaic as that because of greater competitive balance this season (no teams running away with it) and quality of opponent to come for our competitors. For example, looking at teams going for promotion Exeter have to play Forest Green, Bolton, Cambridge and Newport. Newport are playing Bolton, Cambridge, Exeter and Cheltenham whereas of the teams at the top we have to play Cambridge and Cheltenham. Plenty of points to be dropped for those in the top eight.jamespevans wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 8:47 pm71pts gets you into the playoffs in 7 of the last full seasons. Regardless of the permutations of the teams above - we must win on Monday.
