Funny game that. Everyone has to score pretty high despite the fact Oldham were the slightly better team in a really enjoyable game. Can see Oldham right at the top next season if they sort their defence out.

Vigouroux. 6. Distribution not great and an ongoing issue. Couple of decent saves but would have expected to make them.
Akinola. 6. Gave their winger too much space in the first half not helped by one of Clay or Cisse coming across to help. Better in the second.
Turley. 7.5. Another very strong effort.
Happe. 6.5. Dallied a couple of times but overall ok
Widdowson. 6.5. Decent defending. Not a huge amount of attacking threat. One lovely ball by Kemp but him through but he just kind of fell over.
Wilkinson. 7. Hot shot hamish shot for the goal. Played well. Taken off and may be injured. Dropping him has worked as his effort has gone up a notch since.
Kemp. 8.5. Everywhere. Some beautiful touches and lovely passes. We could have a new hero. Just need a chant.
Cisse. 6.5. Woke up a little this week. No Pirlo but at least he put in a shift
Clay. 6.5. Does a job. Sometimes.
Brophy. 7.5. Good game. Plenty of OOMPH going forward.
Johnson. 6. Worked hard but doesn’t look like scoring in a month of Sundays.

Subs. 6. No real impact.

Ref. 7. Refs have been great this year. Perhaps no pressure of the crowd
Oldham. 7. Good little side. Keith Curle can get them promoted with a new defender or two.
Macanauff. 7. Saw that the best way of beating Oldham is to attack their weak spot(the defence) so that is what we did by getting plenty of bodies forward.

About right above, except I thought Clay & Cisse worked their socks off in midfield. They were here, there and everywhere as the expression goes and broke up Oldham's midfield advances and attacks. I don't think it was a coincidence that Oldham scored straight after Cisse was subbed.

Hot shot hamish now there’s a blast from the past.

Turley was once again awesome, just goes to show how shortsighted you can become and blinkered when selecting a team. Deserves his place and long may that continue.

Also Cisse deserves 7.5 and Clay a 7 they worked their backsides off today and Jobi said of Cisse I don’t know how he played the last game let alone today. That’s commitment.

Giving 7’s or more to clay and Cisse implies we were far superior what with Kemp, Turley and Wilkinson also scoring highly. Far superior we were not. If it wasn’t for wayward finishing by them we would have lost. I thought the centre minds put in a decent shift. It’s so unusual to see Cisse put in a decent shift perhaps you getting carried away? Anyway...7.5 then.

I have a blind spot for those two so perhaps you are right. I just want my CM like Dawson or Vincelot!

As would I. However, we don’t have that type of player right now maybe ling will change his mind of what we need in that area or maybe Jobi will tell him?

Definitely. In their roles they don’t always look sexy like others, but both were excellent. I think Cisse has started to look more like the player we remember of late.

I don`t agree with Brophy (6), but apart from that, I`ll give these ratings 8.

Not much to disagree with in that.

Kemp has to be central, we weren’t the same when he went out wide and Dennis played behind DJ.

We finally know what our first choice team is.

Vigoroux - 6 - not much to do, no chance for the goal
Akinola - 6 - our best option for now but still a position to improve
Turley - 8 - immense, so glad he's back in the side
Happe - 7 - solid enough
Widdowson - 6 - had a more difficult second half but prefer him being at LB
Cissé - 7 - Jobi seemed to have solved the conundrum today, looked a lot more lively before going off with injury
Clay - 6 - put in a shift but thought he struggled second half
Kemp - 8 - MOTM performance, great goal
Brophy - 7 - a constant threat, puts the LB vs attacking argument to bed
Wilkinson - 7 - great finish for the goal
Johnson - 6 - worked hard for the team but doesn't look like scoring at the moment

McAnuff - 6 - probably didn't want to have play today, got a bit caught for their goal
Dennis - 6 - saw the game out
Abrahams - 6 - as per Dennis

McAnuff (Manager) - 7 - got us playing with attacking football today, who needs possession when you're peppering the opposition goal and scoring 😎

Also good to see Dean Cox on the panel, more of that please.

Tend to agree with the opening post. Vigouroux is reading too much of the positive press about his distribution when for most of the season it's been iffy. Cisse improved in the second half but in the first half was taking an age to distribute the ball and a few times was an inch away from landing us in it. He also doesn't have the pace to close down a fast moving opposition midfield. Kyprianou deserves an opportunity.

Think Johnson is one goal away from being back to his best and Kemp is a real find. For somebody who weighs five stone he puts himself about and we finally have the link up man we have all been screaming out for.

Bit of a Twitter Q&A with fans, the usual fluffy stuff (favourite goal, players, game etc) but nice to hear from him. Also gave some tactical insights alongside Glen Wilkie.

He seemed pretty natural at it, if I were Orient TV I'd be asking him back more regularly if he's interested in a spot.

If everyone was Fit , this wouldnt be the starting 11 . 1 of the centre halves would be out for Thompson

Cisse was excellent today despite (Per Jobi) carrying a dead leg. Lots of forward passes. Would give Vigouroux 5 for letting a goal in and some absolutely crap " attempted passes" to kemp and Brophy. I thought Johnson had a decent game. He had more support so was more involved

Wouldn't change a winning side but it's a nice problem to have. If we could get Akinola in summer as primarily CB, renewing Happe and Turley that's your CBs sorted.

Thompson will be fit in the summer . He & Turley will be injured at some point next season . We can dream about Tunji signing full time at best . Never say Never though .

Yeah it's a long shot but worth a try. Either way need a new specialist RB (release Ling and Judd) but for a loanee playing in his secondary position Akinola has done well.

Yes agreed, Thomson would come in. Still got Hector to challenge for a spot, plus Jobi will start some games.

I don’t think signing Tunji is out of the question. He’s going to be leaving West Ham, why not come here?

Tunji signing would be brilliant. He’s big mates with Kemp so you never know. He’s a proper defender

Well as for Ross, his tactics and selections, well the difference is that now we have people in charge who have played football and know what they are doing. Never rated Ross as Boss and a mystery to me as to how he remained in the job for so long. Jobi/Danny was a good partnership in waiting, so they have got their chance now to show what they can do so hope it works out well for them and if so, then of course good for Leyton Orient. Perhaps if Cisse is unavailable through injury next game, then Hector can come in to replace his and will be a big blow if in form Wilkinson misses our next game and if he does miss out, then I am guessing that Jobi or Dennis will come in to replace him.
