The World at the moment is a truly horrible place to live. Rampant nationalism wherever you turn, is similar to how things were just before the first world war broke out.
China are the biggest threat to mankind, there has ever been, with Russia not far behind them.
The USA have been fuckers for longer than i can remember
Europe fragmenting........the rich countries getting richer and more powerful by the day, and the poorest peoples of the world suffering more than they ever have before
The future is grim

Arguably the world have never been less nationalist - because its always been deeply nationalist/tribal. Threats have always existed everywhere - the issues are just highlighted far more easily by the ability to report them very quickly.

I am lucky and grateful to happen to exist at this moment in time than in any period in world history. I am also lucky and grateful to happen to have been born in this country, compared to most other countries. Things could be, and have been, far far worse for the average human throughout time and around the planet.
So, cheer the f*** up.

Depends on your time scale. I think the world has gone backwards in this respect over the last 10 or so years. But if you're comparing it to known history you are, of course, correct.

That was a guess, but according to Wikipedia I was correct. GB listed as 15th most tolerant country.

I reckon there's not much separating the top group of countries in terms of lived experience and opportunities. Sure, there's always room for improvement, but we should also celebrate that we're in that top group.
