After the Magistrates Court it looks like he will be sent to the Crown Court. Looks like it's now in the bag for Gove.

I doubt that this case will do any damage to his aspirations. He’s already disliked by his parliamentary colleagues so it’s not like they will change their minds cos of this case.

Given the allegation is an indictible only offence it will have to be dealt with at Crown Court.Blackadder wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 11:56 am After the Magistrates Court it looks like he will be sent to the Crown Court. Looks like it's now in the bag for Gove.
All that had happened so far is a magistrate has agreed to issue a summons... is he has agreed to legal proceedings being allowed to start.
The magistrate said that he has not made any determination on the evidence or even considered the strength of any evidence.
It will be a long time yet before any case gets to trial & it will be an exceptionally difficult case to prove (not impossible though).

Re: Boris off to court for lies during Brexit Campaign
Well. The maths say that we gave the EU gross £356m per day. If he loses it will mean that we can all sue, whatever government is in for breaking manifesto pledges.
Not sure that this will go far. But just someone fronting for a group of unknowns to try to damage Johnson.
This is a similar tactic to that that the men in grey suits organised for Andrea Leadsom, in the last leadership election.

If Boris gets convicted over this it will open up a can of worms . There will be Remainer MPs in the dock next with charges over operation fear. Look at all the lying they did .

Fingers crossed it works in the same way. We can't have that buffoon as PM.Still's Carenae wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 12:59 pm Well. The maths say that we gave the EU gross £356m per day. If he loses it will mean that we can all sue, whatever government is in for breaking manifesto pledges.

But Boris is a serial liar of previously unknown levels. He can't open his big gob without spouting untruths. Yes, other politicians lie for sure but Boris the Bent is in a league of his own.

As far as I know, it was only Brexit people who lied and cheated. The magistrate was a woman, so you should have put she, not he.spen666 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 12:52 pmGiven the allegation is an inductive only offence it will have to be dealt with at Crown Court.Blackadder wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 11:56 am After the Magistrates Court it looks like he will be sent to the Crown Court. Can you prove the gender or have you made an assumption in your accusation of me making an assumption?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 1:20 pmThe magistrate was a woman, so you should have put she, not he.spen666 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 12:52 pmGiven the allegation is an inductive only offence it will have to be dealt with at Crown Court.Blackadder wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 11:56 am After the Magistrates Court it looks like he will be sent to the Crown Court. Re: Boris off to court for lies during Brexit Campaign
Can anyone identify EXACTLY what false representation BJ made
Can you identify how it was made by BJ and when it was made
And finally
Can you prove the representation as made was indeed false and that BJ knew it was false?
Those are the sort of things that will have to be proved by admissible evidence before a jury

I’ve agreed on quite a lot of what you’ve said recently, come on project fear was real for Christ’s sake. Did you not listen to the radio, watch tv or read the papers? Secondly our economy has been growing all the way through the period since the Brexit vote, again you must have missed it.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 1:19 pmAs far as I know, it was only Brexit people who lied and cheated. But we haven't left yet have we. Hardly the first time that this has been pointed out but it obviously bears repeating.Thor wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 1:34 pmI’ve agreed on quite a lot of what you’ve said recently, come on project fear was real for Christ’s sake. True we haven’t left yet, but it was Gideon who said we’d crash straight in to recession should we vote to leave. Did it happen, nope. On and on it went. Project fear all lies.
