Why , are we not ambitious enough to go for an experienced, proven Manager at this level or above ?

That's just a bollocks loaded question for so many reasons. Typical of you.

The obvious honest question as he is now available.
What’s wrong with you or anyone else giving an honest answer ?

This bloke would be a great appointment.
44% win rate.
A little bit expensive though.

We have seen Martin Ling's recruitment of higher division players or players who have been promoted from our current division bear fruit in non-league. Hasn't quite worked yet in League 2 other than to stabilize us in league football again (which is warmly appreciated), however that's his thoughtful approach on players, so I'm hoping that he can once again apply that rationale to managers as he did for Justin Edinburgh. I like McAnuff as a rookie boss but I think he has been dealt a very bad hand working with a very average squad that has got injuries to key positions and key players right now, as well as many players seemingly running down their contracts.

His old man - Frank Jackett - did in the 1950’s. Is that close enough?

Fan pressure.
Under Jackett Pompey finished 5th, 4th and 6th in League One in the last 3 seasons and are currently 7th.
That isn't good enough apparently.

Absolutely, we cannot afford to not ask.
He may be a bit expensive but that can be countered by getting rid of all the assistant coaches .
At least it would be value for money getting an experienced, proven Manager at this level and above.
Who could possibly argue against ?

It will be a statement that’s for sure.
I suspect our fans think the owners are wealthier than what they are.
I don’t think they have anywhere near the money people think, and I would imagine money is tight.

I would have thought he'd be on 5k a week which is not realistic for our level. Good manager though.

Wouldn't be the first jacket at Orient.
There was Ralph Coates and Russell Suede.

More likely a manager with a good track record at bigger in the division above Isn’t gonna be interested in a mid table league 2 job
Wonder if poundhillo was the bloke who was telling Ling we should have got that guy who was managing in the championship instead of fletcher

Some are out of contract at the end of the season, others longer but it’s the price that has to be paid for so many unnecessary appointments.
Would you rather keep the assistant coaches or have Kenny Jacket as our new Manager ?
