The owners are at foult I don’t know if you are at agreeance with me but giving jobi the jobi could ruin his reputation as a young manager I love the man but no way ready to step up to full manager and also Danny sends is not the answer as well

Jobi needs time . Our real problem is our squad still isn't good enough despite what our owners were saying.

We rarely to well down there; but, 0-3 at half time??

Is Clay captain again? Not a leader of men as far as I can see...

Plenty of better candidates for today’s scapegoating than Clay based on what I’ve seen so far!

How long do you think the owners will give jobi if he loses the next8 game and does anyone else on here thinks that sends will get the next chance as manager of jobi gets the tin tic I hope not after sends it will be brill and then maybe harrold after him anyone think that we could be running out of staff by that time all because the owners are about saving money

So you can judge a manager in 4 games? IMBECILE!

Everyone seems to be missing the point: Jobi isn’t a manager.

He’s a fantastic player who has been given a manager job as it was the easiest/cheapest option.

Until this club actually hires a manager we will be going nowhere.

If you thought after our poor run he would come in and wave a magic wand and put everything right inside of a week and two games then you are mistaken. He has had 2 proper training sessions I’d imagine in that time, confidence is very low and belief has been eroded in both individuals and the team. It is also clear he wants to change the way we play and this takes time.

So give the man sometime to implement what he wants, what he demands and see where it takes us. To keep on saying it’s because they won’t employ an experienced manager is not going to cut it when this appointment has been made.

This could turn into what I was worried about - that the fans will turn on Jobi if it doesn’t work out, and his status as a proper club hero will take a battering. I’d hate to be calling for his head, but the club have to take some blame for taking the cheap/easy option. I was hoping that Jobi would be in place while we looked for a manager but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Early days yet, but that was a sobering result.

I won’t blame Jobi when this goes t*ts up.

We should have hired a proper manager back in July 2019. It’ll soon be two years since Justin’s passing and we’ve still not hired a proper manager to replace him.

You won’t, and not will I, but some people are going to take their frustration out on whoever’s in charge, which is Jobi.

This 100% - I think we are very lucky to have him as our manager. Played at a very high level, seems like the manager role somewhere was always his next step and he talks intelligently. He will definitely want to make a good impression here, even if we are merely a stepping stone in his management career. We may have to accept a few weeks of similar results while he gets his philosophy into place. As long as we stay up, and then he gets an opportunity to shuffle the pack for next season - it could be exciting times ahead.

That didn’t seem to be an issue when Fletcher was in charge!😄

''Rome was not built in a day''
Jobi is new to this job and he needs time to implement his ideas, training methods, tactics etc. Lets see where we are after something like his first 8 games in charge then a clearer picture may be starting to emerge. He has not inherited a particularly brilliant squad of players, so tactics have to be worked out and evolved to try to achieve better performances using the players that he has at his disposal.

Agreed, I’d also suggest that he will be ruthless with the players, allowing them the opportunity to prove their worth and if they don’t match up to his expectations then it will be thanks, but your not in the squad until you show me that you deserve to be. I expect changes if the effort and performance don’t improve.

Sid, I would go further and say McAnuff should be given his chance until the end of the season. That should be a reasonable time to see if an improvement can be achieved.
I think the concern is that based upon recent experience with RE the Board seems to 1:- allow “ interim” to become extended and then “ permanent” when results on the pitch don’t warrant it
2:- have a bit of a blind spot in respect of in house appointments and has an over sentimental approach to addressing underperformance

Yes I did not mean that he would be removed after 8 games if results are not that great, just that it will take at least 8 games or so to see a clearer picture of how if any, progress is being made. I think that Jobi will be seeing the season out, then his position will be reviewed and if he has done ok, then I would guess that he will be offered the job full time.
