Credit to Jobi - steady as you go

Great to see that even though Jobi played 433, he played players in the right positions . ! Surely that's the basics with Brophy on the wing !! Unfortunately , anything was possible previously.... Jobi is still playing a steady as you go hand of cards but most of us would do the same . Clever on Jobi's part. Lets get the points in the bag and then we can go 442 with finally a striking partner that DJ can feed off ! Up the O's !!

The team certainly played with more drive and urgency and at last looked capable of scoring, in fact should have had more. Kemp – the chief culprit on missed chances – looked far more involved and lively than in previous games. Widdowson played well on his return, Cisse actually seemed to want to get the ball forwards, and the defence looked pretty solid. And it was all much more entertaining to watch as a result
Ok so it’s against the bottom team, let's not get carried away, but you can only beat what’s in front of you. Well done Jobi, pleased for him to get a win in his first game.

Not so much passing backwards which is an improvement

Yes a great improvement but still some unnecessary passing sideways and back when players we’re free up front.
A much better game by a long chalk.

Previously we seemed more focussed on wanting to keep possession while yesterday we were happier to accept giving it away to advance up the pitch. The former is more of a stats driven approach but the latter can also he effective if we then press the defenders into losing the ball in more dangerous positions. Fine against Grimsby but will be interesting to see how effective that is against better teams.

Sounds like trying to create a higher percentage scoring opportunity than wasting an attack on a lower percentage decision.
