We have sold 3250 ST's and targeting 4500

Post by Reflecto »

Found an interesting article from 3 years ago when we were in League 2

https://www.efl.com/news/2016/november/ ... ices-down/

Average ST's per club in League 2 was c 2500 and c. 4900 for League 1, if the numbers are broadly the same in 19/20 we are well placed if we can get to 4500 this season

Yes I think many will renew in the last week of June after the fixtures are released and people can retain the same seat.
Not sure that we will reach 4,500, that may depend on us signing a few players which may spur a few doubters on.
Glad that the club have kept the 3 Free tickets per ST holder. My wife’s cousin came along a few times as a guest and has bought one at the Earlybird rate along with my son and I for next season.

I only twice sat in my assigned seat, often when I turned up five minutes before kick off someone was sat in it! Luckily plenty of seats in same row in east stand for the pair of us, so just sat in them.

Last season it was 3 adult + 1 U18, is that still the same? Used one of the U18 for my nephew for final game and the 6 adults were used as well. One U18 ticket was wasted as nephew didn’t get up in time for Wrexham game. Ghost youth.

4000 was exceptional. To exceed it would be brilliant

Yes, I think so as well. If we can make a couple of very good signings I reckon we will surpass that figure.

When you think how many children and disabled supporters have been priced out, to increase on last year will be exceptional. I can’t see us reaching 4,500 myself but hope I’m proved wrong.

If we sell less then it will only clear out the non-attendees that bought a season ticket because it was a "throwaway" at such a cheap price.

I think our ticket prices still represent good value.
Hopefully the Ghostkidz will become a thing of the past.
I’m not sure we will reach 4,500 but it would be interesting to compare our prices with the other clubs in L2.

Not sure how the children have been priced out, £49 from £9 is still cracking value for money. My adult price increase was probably fine as well. Our prices are very competitive and if you were to compare them against the rest of the league our prices are the 16th most expensive. Again good value for money.

It’s £59. That’s a massive increase for those kids who ain’t multi-millionaires.

Mmm, given I still pay for tickets, mobiles and holidays for my 19 & 15 year old kids, it’s not them who need to be multi millionaires.

Oh ok it’s £59 it’s still proper cheap. That’s 23 games for £59 that is great value at £2.56 per game.

To put it in context. I took my wife and kids to see the latest Marvel film and it cost me more than that for one film. I’d say my son and daughter will get more entertainment and value for money watching their team play than watching just one film. Or they can watch 5 games down the O’s for the same price as 1 ticket at the cinema.

I’d say it’s cheap down Brisbane Rd.

Yes, yes and the go karting and tutoring and what not. They’re all much more expensive, I get it.

To put it in context, the season ticket was £9 last season and it’s 6 times more expensive this season. That’s the only context needed.

The only time my son had a season ticket he never went. As the pay on the gate price for kids was £1 in north stand last year (£5 elsewhere and for u18s) I would have just got them on the day anyway as it’s always too cold, too wet, too late or there is a party to go to. Though now son is 19 and away from home, not an issue anymore. Not sure what pay on gate prices will be next year.

Yes I get the context, I get the high percentage increase, but in real terms it isn’t that big an increase is it? It’s still good value for money.

If you really want a crusade get the people out of that stand who get a cheaper ticket cos of the child that does not exist. Then the child ticket may be able to be reduced through full paying adults, although I doubt the club will go down that route, as you know once something goes up it very rarely goes down again.

Or the disabled ticket charges, again justified if you want to complain about that, I’d even support you in that argument.

Have on the day prices been announced yet or not? I guess the £1 on the day ticket for U11s will have gone,

Have no problem with increasing my adult season ticket but increasing
my 3 school kids season tickets from £49 to £99 each is nothing short
of a disgrace ..
My kids don't earn a wage so like a,great many who may renew it will
fall back on to the parents/guardians to find the 100% increase on each
ticket juvenile tickets..
We won't be renewing, maybe the club with all its "feel good factor" can
at present let the regular fans slip thru the net i have sent my concerns
to Mr.Macklin about a month ago and as yet i have had no reply which tells
me all i need to know about how the club feels about supporters concerns..

It’s disappointing that the club wants to improve its lines of communication with the fans and then ignores concerns sent to the ceo. That’s a poor show. Hedman chase Macklin up and don’t let him off till he replies.

Unfortunately Thor I've moved on and bought season tickets at my local
non -league side who were over the moon when i rang them up to buy
them..

Done my time with the O's we're back in the league and i can claim
to have been one of the 1400 to have seen Nigel Donn"s only goal
at home v Donny..
Mark Blackhall diving/tumble header away at Brentford to being one
of the only 30 fans at Burnley for Ian Juryeff"s debut goal..
It's feel good at The O"s and long may it continue unfortunately i wont
be ripped of ...

I think many get agitated when looking at percentages rather than looking at value for money. £100 for 23 home games is less than a fiver per game. A Big Mac meal. Hardly a rip off. Last seasons low prices were simply a means to increase the core base of the club and it seemed to work. But such deals can’t go on forever. Wages and costs go up and it’s reasonable for the fans to share the load.

Of course I appreciate some fans don’t have the means to find the extra but the club cannot look at the finances of every fan.

Each of us have to make our own choices and that’s fine, in my opinion the prices are very reasonable and if it stops the empty seat saga even better.

Saving a few quid watching non-league. Cutting off your nose to spite your face it seem to me, fo what, a tenner a month.
