Started to watch Orient 8 Doncaster 0 from December 1996 on YouTube the other day. Was 2-0 when I stopped it. Finishing it this weekend (though IIRC we took out foot off the gas with 30 mins left).

I have a really vague memory (I was 10) that in about the 80th minute the ball went out for a throw into the east stand and a steward did kick ups for about 30 seconds and everyone was cheering. But I reckon I might have made it up. Me too.
The most I can watch is the goals from this game, particularly the highlight that shows Shaun Batt's run up the wing. Shaun didn't do too much for us but his goal at Millwall and the afore-mentioned run will live in the memory for a long-time.

It was a young Doncaster fan, not a steward, when the ball went into the old enclosure at the front of the East Stand (south end) - not far in front of me in fact, as I sat in the East in those days. Nearer 5-10 seconds than 30, and much amusement expressed that they should bring him on as a sub. And yes, we really took the foot off the gas. After the 8th goal O's fans were chanting "we want 10!" as there was a real chance to beat the record, and at full time there was even annoyance that we hadn't scored more.

A bigger annoyance was when I turned up for the 1pm kick off only to find it was 3pm. The Donny lad doing keepy ups is the only thing I remember from that game.

Loved the game but don’t want to be reminded about the final that we lost
