Oh no, I’m really saddened to hear this. I feared the worst when I heard his family had been called in. What he achieved was a truly remarkable feat. R.I.P. Captain Tom

He achieved more in his 100th year than most of us will in a lifetime. Proves that just because someone is old, their lives still have value.

Its the public that came up with the money. Its not really heroic to hobble around your garden, but credit to him for the idea.

It is heroic when your garden's the size of Regent Park.

Might also argue that it was a bit pointless seeing as govt have money printing machines and can fund whatever they like, if they wish to do so.

Unbelievably crass.
He was an embarrassment to the ‘government’!
You obviously don’t agree! how sad are you?
