I have just discovered that Stephen Lewis the deceased actor who starred in On The Buses and Last of The Summer Wine is interred at St Patrick’s Cemetery next to The Birkbeck Pub Leytonstone. He is near to a relation of mine and I saw members of the ‘On The Buses Fan Club ‘there taking pictures. The underground line runs alongside the cemetery , between Leyton and Leytonstone. Apparently there are a few noted people buried there including the last victim
Of Jack The Ripper , the Kray Twins and st least one of their henchmen according to the Gate Keeper. I would have popped into the Birkbeck as they do good beer in there historically, but sadly closed of course.

Yes the Gatekeeper was not sure. He had only been there few weeks still finding the ropes. Bit isolated over that way these days without the pub open as nowhere to get a cup of tea.
Langthorne Hospital in it’s heyday had a really good canteen but that hospital
Is long gone. Think it is flats now..

Are you a fan with a name like that?
They seem to be repeating the series at about 3am these days due to the ‘carry on’ style content.
