Sensible of him and us to be kicking the tyres, but no doubt he is talking to many other clubs too

I heard Harold was getting another year signing him is a bit of a strange one if that's the case.

It's almost like whatever you heard was gospel truth.

If he comes back to us we had better get practising putting in better crosses.

His skillset could make our crosses look good

Maybe we might be thinking about signing McCallum as a replacement for Simpson. Next season's strike force could be Bonne, Koroma , Harrold and McCallum.

Not if they go flying 5ft over his head.

For sure signing Harrold doesn't rule out us signing McCallum. But really if we are able to sign McCallum I'd be disappointed if we resigned Harrold.

But in your example his aerial threat would draw defenders to him and leave space for a runner at the far post to get onto the ball.

With going back to 7 subs, it would be good to have 2 forwards on the bench, so maybe we will need 5 forwards to have enough cover so one more needed if Alabi is here next season. I assume Simpson is not going to be here next season.

True. I'd prefer we used some of da yoof make up this 5th option though and we try to give them some minutes off the bench at some point.

Trouble is many of our crosses are ending up nearer the corner flag than the far post

Bonne, Koroma, Harold and Mccullum would be a decent strike force and allow us to mix it up giving all four game time and competition for starting slots. With 7 subs, a youth player can still get a chance at some point as injuries, fatigue and bans take effect.

This makes sense bearing in mind that Harold will only be fit for half a season.

Re-signing Harrold worries me, as McCallum would be a much superior option - and the two of them seem too similar (stylistically) to provide an good mix of options and permutations from four strikers.

Our aim is to finish mid table in League 2, not to challenge Man City and Liverpool !

I don’t think they’re similar but yeah, that four doesn’t allow for a lot of combinations does it.
We’re going to need 4 strikers In each match day squad. Depending on how close the kids are to the first team, there’s a case for bringing in two more and having the five options.
