1. He actually “exposes” child abusers through legitimate journalistic work

2. Any piece of negative news about him is “fake news”, even when they are using actual quotes which came from his own mouth

3. Pretty much all British institutions are “corrupt”, including the entire British justice system and all judges because they have the audacity to pursue a criminal case against him for almost tanking a court trial

4. That a man who never shuts up and is never out of the media is being “silenced”

5. That anybody who doesn’t fully endorse him supports child abusers, radical terrorists and communism

There really is not a shred of rationality with these people. And the terrifying thing is that they’d vote for him in an instant.

What he did was wrong no doubt about it, but it highlighted to a wider audience what was going on as the media was not allowed to report on any cases that were going on. Yet rape cases were being reported on as were other abuse cases like that Nick on the MP’s abuse case.

I do wonder about this. The problem is that these people are particularly loud and relentless on social media, so does it skew the appearance that they are a majority? When, in fact, they are just a rather loud minority.

On the other hand, how many quietly support him but don't say anything through fear of being shamed.

To them, reality is what they want it to be. All those things I listed above, they genuinely believe and no facts, truth or reasoned argument will change their mind. Everybody is susceptible to a bit of confirmation bias, especially when it comes to politics, but these people operate at pathological levels.

Their arguments are always painfully simplistic.

All media (except the specific platforms which say nice things about Yaxley-Lennon) are "fake news".
All politicians (except the ones which sympathize with Yaxley-Lennon) are members of "the estabishment"
Any institution (especially the one which is currently holding Yaxley-Lennon to account for his behaviour) is "corrupt"
They are also obsessed with "antifa". Basically anybody who disagrees with them is "antifa". And all "antifa" are violent thugs

They genuinely believe that he is some sort of political messiah. It's really, really worrying. Critical thought, nuance and logical thinking goes completely out of the window.

The government did no such thing. The judge in this trial had ordered that reporting restrictions not be lifted because it was part of a series of linked trials, so no reporting until the last trial had been concluded. It is irrelevant what happened reporting-wise in a different trial covering similar issues, the judge in each trial weighs up on its particular circumstances what can and can't be reported, to balance both a fair trial and that justice is seen to be done.

In this case it was not up to Yaxley-Lennon whether or not he should "highlight to a wider audience" what was happening; the judge had ruled there should be no reporting, and breaching that order is contempt of court.
