Well, at least he didn’t spend the whole of the second half talking about dogs like he did on Saturday.

Just about the only media attached to the club that can do actual journalism. Treasure him.

Best comment of the night was “and that’s the last kick of the game” at half time!

Dave makes me laugh. It’s an ongoing joke in my household to see if we can predict how many mistakes he makes per commentary. It’s hilarious. At times so bad, it’s more entertaining than the football itself. A particular weak spot of his is pronouncing and mixing up names. He also has an obsession with the corner count numbers. As the OP mentions, he also makes me chuckle how high pitched and excited he gets for only a half chance, or a shot that’s nowhere near the goal.

But Dave is a legend. He’s quirky and although his commentary can be a little irritating, I like to think he perfectly typifies the voice of the Os.

Yeah, keep it up DD.
He particularly made me smile on Tuesday night with his earnest explanation that because of injuries Exeter had to change from their preferred 3 - 5 - 1 formation.

Uniquely amongst the various people who do podcasts or appear on Club media, he doesn't love the sound of his own voice. It's no co-incidence that he's producing the most objective commentary too - obviously he can't come out and start slagging the management etc, even during the depths of the Beelzebub era his approach was more nuanced than that - but he's not afraid of asking genuinely challenging questions, even if it's done very gently. He'll also call a spade a spade if Orient have had a shocker rather than come across like a sad, deflated kids' party balloon like the younger lads, cheerleaders, hangers-on and podcasters do.

Yeah, I remember the first time I heard him commentate, I wondered who the hell Jabo Ibwee was. And I still get dismayed by some of Josh White's performances. Perhaps his speech impediment prevented him from having a commentary career at a higher level, but he's a genuinely lovely, selfless fella who is largely ego-free, and to this day is still providing the most even-handed analysis on the Club (outside of the Orientear) :D

Treasure him.

Yeah, even one or 2 a game are too much but every 5/10 mins is ridiculous. Have them on a scrolling banner if people really need to have Dave Victor wish them a happy birthday
