Very average tonight.
I’m sure he’ll have a career in the game but it won’t be with West Ham. He’s the same age as Happe and I know who I’d pick first every single time.

Thought he was very good tonight. Played on the front and rarely beaten when 1v1. More senior games he gets the better

What! He cut out more crosses in the first 4 minutes of the second half when Tranmere were looking to press that Ling does in a season.
He had a decent game, defensively and offensively. What this, his second or third game, he gets involved, takes responsibility, tackles, passes and runs. Makes Ling look like Nellie the Elephant.

He had a very good game. Take off the blinkers.
More Hate for Ling jnr from DoH
Shocking !
A valid comparison. They are competing for the same spot so comparisons will be made. Embleton has done the comparing too which is why Ling is warming the bench.

Well many of our younger members may not have heard of the kids song ''Nellie the Elephant''
Here are two version of this song, first is the original, that I remember listening to in the 1950s and 60s on the BBC radio's famous ''Children's favourites''. ''Mandy Miller - Nellie the Elephant (Unedited) 1956''
For way of a contrast, here is the 1984 fun version by ''Toy Dolls - Nellie the Elephant (We're Mad, Sunderland, UK, 1984)''

Saying a player has done more in 4 minutes than another does in an entire season is not a comparison .
It is pure unadulterated HATE should be warned or banned for the continuous vitriol

He played well, but he offered himself up square a couple of times hopefully just nerves of playing in an unfamiliar role possibly?

Guys we took 3pts it's a win akinola done well however must be better then ling as he's started the last 3 but do not forget he could be out of form or even have a niggle that hasn't been disclosed but I say good performance from akinola kept a clean sheet that's all we want.

It will be interesting to see how the lad gets on if he plays in his preferred position of central defence.
As it is, seems to be doing an ok job at right back.

Couple of people on the ratings thread make him MOTM. People on the other forum too.
Inexperienced kid not playing in his main position. Did well. Strangely we can now move forward down the right as well as the left. Novel. Preferred to Ling. Thomas brought in at RB before Covid. Everybody can see what we can see.
I guess it’s time for a contract extension for Jnr.

I thought Akinola had a decent game , quite solid if unspectacular but of course we will play far better teams than Tranmere who wouldn’t have looked out of place on Hackney Marshes.
Happe was probably my MOTM.

Got to say I was reminiscing about my days over the marshes whilst watching Tranmere. Some of us would have given then a game.
But Orient can only beat the team in front of them and we did. Credit to them. Job done.

The only problem is Whether Jobi could do another 70-80 mins, but he did look ok tonight.

I rhink that is our biggest problem
Jobi not being fit or in the team
As Ross says he calms the team & makes us tick
I don’t think his fitness is in doubt, amazing if you ask me. But whether he can recover sufficiently between matches in order to play on top of his game is the question.
I’d have him play every game, but I doubt his body could cope. So he needs to be used carefully. Fantastic player and makes such a difference.

Agreed with this.
There’s absolutely no issue with Jobi doing 90 minutes.
The only question mark is over him doing 90 minutes twice a week and the lack of recovery time.

He is 38
His fitness will be tested & therefore will be left out of games to recover .
That is the worry , He is Fit now thank god , lets hope he stays that way .

If the plan is for Jobi not to do a full 90 minutes on saturday i would definetly start him from the off. We need to be controlling the game and not chasing it, more chance of that with Jobi starting.
