Tranmere

Nice result for them yesterday and a shot at the play off final. There is no reason why we can’t be challenging next season just like them. We are on a roll, we have a decent squad, an excellent manager and a proper feel good factor with the fans.

The Phoenix has risen.

Of course the question is, will we be able to keep the squad together. I'd be very surprised if we didn't receive offers for some of our more successful young players (Happe, Ekpiteta, Bonne, Koroma). Surely we won't keep them all.

And will Bonne stay/step up and score 25-30 in league two, like Norwood?

Also, Tranmere lost their top scorer before the season, Andy Cook who scored 28 in the total last season. Went to Walsall.

So all is not lost if we do lose players.

If we can keep the team together anything less than the playoffs will be a disappointment

Not sure why it wouldn't be him most refs love the game just aren't good enough to play it at a decent level.

And Tranny will be playing Newport - who looked dead and buried two seasons ago with just a few games to go when we dropped out of the League. What a turnaround from them as a club too.

Of the twelve players Tranmere used last night, over half weren't at the club last season. Nelson, Gilmour and Morris are loans. Perkins and Monthe were signed for a fee. Caprice and Banks were brought in on a free. Of the unused substitutes, Smith is a loan, Mullin was signed for a fee, Dagnall was brought in on a free. That's ten new players from their squad of eighteen.

Without changes, we won't be in the play offs.

Worth remembering that we won the league whereas Tranmere won the playoffs last season. They also finished 2nd to a Macclesfield side we were unlucky not to beat, and we got a creditable draw with Tranmere last season. I believe that we are a better side now than Tranmere were at the same stage last season.

Is the Centre Half with the beer belly still getting a regular game for Tranmere?

He's the club captain but has only just come back from a bad injury. Might be carrying some (more) weight!

I thought he was great...Looked like he'd run through brick walls.

Makes you think that had Orient somehow survived in League Two in 2016/2017 and Becshiity has sold up then, that maybe Orient could have done this.

I hope you’re not suggesting Caprice has contributed to their chance of success. That won’t go down very well.

How is it that James Norwood has been knocking the goals in now consistently for two or three seasons yet he's still at Tranmere .? By the logic on here he should have been playing at least in the Championship by now.

I think that in that scenario ( we had not got relegated ) Bechetti would have clung on and delayed selling the club.

He wasn't paying wages at the end, don't see how he could have started the following season.

I thought he was paying the wages out of a personal account albeit late.

Beelzebub lost interest in the club when the protests started many months before he sold. His ego could not accept fans criticism of him hence his lacking interest in playing matters leaving us to field kids and then relegation. He would have let us crash and burn in retaliation to fans actions. We were lucky a buyer came along.
