Inevitable, I suppose.
Regardless of all my other opinions, I hope he gets through it.

I wonder how the Trumpian nutters will take this news, seeing as Covid is all a conspiracy?

Wouldn't surprise me if it turns out he's pretending to have it so he can bounce back, proving his theory it's nothing to worry about.
Worringly Boris seemed to return even more of a buffoon than before.

Straight after Boris got quite a bit of sympathy, maybe Trump is after that

It’s possible he’s got it, of course.
But it’s just as possible he hasn’t and he’ll be fine next week, showing everyone how strong he is.
That’s how messed up things are.

It sounds like he only got tested because is aide came down with symptoms. But, so far he appears to be asymptomatic. Should that change, however, then things could get very interesting.

If he died of it, it would change the discourse in the US completely

His next move here will either save or lose a lot of life I think.
If he comes out and does the LOOK IM FINE IM SO STRONG!! thing, which he kind of has to a few weeks before election, he'll encourage an even more cavalier attitude amongst his following.
If he comes out and uses it as an opportunity to explain how asymptomatic doesn't mean clear, how to isolate properly, how health comes first etc then he may turn some of his tin hatters into actually believing it and taking more care. It's a big moment for him to act Presidential.
P.S Hope he gets well, 74 isn't a good age to get it at.

Do you think there's the remotest chance he'll take the latter approach?

Our man at the Beeb Sobell (?), says no one at the Inner Circle of White House Elite wears masks. On Wednesday 5 of them, Trump included, piled in a little helicopter with his aide, already Covid. What a bunch of chumps. If Biden goes down with it as well as Vice President, Putin should prep up his invasion force. Would be a wise move if he has any ambition. But tell his troops to wear masks first!

I do actually! Not large, but a chance.
He has his 40%, just like Boris does here, that will still vote for him if he pisses in their chips. He knows he has a limited time to get on board the undecideds which is really where his win is. Biden has come across more sensible and did in particular at debate, so a good strategy could well be a slower, more sensible, less bombastic role. It won't lose his core support but it might gain him a million that WANT to vote Republican but think he is a joke. I think it could be very smart.

Behind in the polls, looks like losing, Trump will do anything to cling on to power, this could be a hoax.
when Johnson supposedly got covid, he got a lot of sympathy etc.
Trump maybe thinking, how can people vote against an ill man etc.
i wouldnt trust this gangster for a moment

He loves rallies though and has has to cancel 3. He's fat, old and there's a lot of speculation about health problems, we won't know if he's got it bad for another 4-5 days most likely. But I guess faking it chimes with his whole 'ive way more energy and vitality than Biden' angle. Messed up that we even have to question the legitimacy of this.

Unless he dies, or there's footage of him on a ventilator with a tube of domestos rammed up his bumhole, lot's of people are going to remain convinced this is just a hoax.

Absolutely, 4 years ago it would be unimaginable that the president of the US might fake an illness for electoral gain.
I reckon on balance he probably has caught it, while I wouldn't wish death on anyone, the damage that will be done if he's able to say a week later that it was nothing but a sniffle and he's back stronger than ever means that I hope he does become unwell enough that it's hard to spin that angle.

This is his move to get out as the betting markets are moving away from him. Just stuck £10 on Pence, got 42/1

The only thing he is likely to test positive for in reality is as an IMBECILE!
