Got to feel sorry for them. Only lost one league game all season and get 97 points but still come second! That’s just unlucky.

Unbelievable really. And more points than the Arsenal Invincibles.

Actually Man City beating Liverpool which was the only match they lost didn't help, either.
If Liverpool had beaten City at home or drew away that may have mad a difference,

I still think Liverpool are much better than Spurs and they will win the CL final with ease.

Agreed they must be favourites and their next European trophy will shortly be added to the trophy cabinet.

On the Radio, one of the stattos told the host ,
Liverpool would have won the League with 97 points
113 times out of the last 119 times .

No sympathy for Liverpool. Man City proved worthy winners by rattling off 14 straight wins under the greatest pressure.

I’ve always thought the team with most points deserve to be champions. Not who lost fewer or wh had the best run

That is wrong. Impossible to compare as there were differing numbers of teams hence different number of games.
Liverpool did win title with 68 points in a 42 game season with 2 points for a win which would equate to 98 points (W30 D8 L4). But that is with 4 extra games.

It's not really impossible to compare, just calculate average and scale to 3 points for a win.

I reckon you should have won the prediction league for sarcasm.
On another note I've always liked the idea of four points for an away win.

And even then it is wrong. Only seasons Liverpool would not have won title on that basis are 1889, 2018 and 2019. Preston P22 W18 D4 L0 would equate to 100 points, no one else has got near. Also under 2 points for a win Liverpool would be champions rather than City, so the scaling up is not applicable as there would be other cases like that down the years.

Yes they would have been the best team in the league in many other seasons, but this comparing points over different seasons when so many variables are at play is such nonsense. Man Utd got more points last season finishing 2nd than their treble-winning team did in 1999, so by this dumb logic last season's team are better.
