1 Viruses are very small and you can't see them 2 Some people catch it and are very ill and die 3 Some people catch it and display no symptoms at all and can pass it to some people who will die.
Anybody with the requisite amount of brain cells will see that this is a dangerous combination of facts. Will people like Thor & Prestige Worldwide who can''t really seem to get their " brain " around these dangerous facts, please go away and think about the sort of stuff they are posting.

Another fact is the sensible majority are suffering because of a few thick, selfish idiots who feel the rules don’t apply to them.
Well done the Welsh Minister today who had the balls to say their lockdown, affecting large numbers of people, is the result of a few who ignore the rules. Now that is a Covid fact in my opinion. Treat them like outcasts.
Johnson, send a search party out to find your balls, they are in there somewhere.

A few months ago, I got really fed up with Boris non stop praising the British people for ALL of them being sensible and observing the rules to prevent this virus spreading when in actual fact, so many people have blatantly not complied ! Hold on, ''ALL'' means everybody, not just the majority of the British public. To pick out just one lot, many young students ( both male and females ) shown on tv news recently seeming to think and act like going to ''Uni'' was a great reason to get completely drunk and Party, Party whilst ignoring any type of social distancing or wearing masks. One girl interviewed was saying the rules to shut down bars and restaurants were not fair to the students !
Others said there were going back to their places of residence to booze and party on, one lad shown carrying what looked like a litre bottle of vodka to take to their after 10 pm party !

This,
for example the mayor of Manchester today says the government should rethink the pubs close at 10 restriction because people are just hanging around in supermarkets and carrying on drinking in the streets.
NO
People need to take personal responsibly, stop acting like selfish pricks and go home. Simple really

I wonder what it is that sets some British people apart from, say, the Germans or the French or the South Koreans, that makes some of us more likely to act in stupid selfish ways wrt the Public Health messaging.
Is there something in the water, or our diet, or some genetic abnormality that means that some of us just decide to do what the hell we fancy doing because that's what suits us? We don't hear of the Germans all flocking to the beaches or rampaging out on the piss when they're being asked to show some consideration. Are we really that different from other peoples?
Maybe they're genetically more disposed to thinking about others and adapting their behaviors for the greater good.
OR
Do you suspect that it might have something to do with how we are led?

Deference to the police is another thing
German/French police far more heavy handed in not only policing the pandemic but in general over decades

The way to reduce the frighteningly high covid figures we're getting at the moment...lock up all young people for 6 months. SORTED

Les Gilets Jaunes would agree with you wrt heavy handed policing - but their activities before the pandemic rather disprove the idea of "deference to the police".

It has come to light that The House of Commons bar was exempt from the 10pm curfew as it was classed as a work place canteen. Only stopped because of the backlash.

The French have always been up for a row with the police I'll give you.
Maybe deference was the wrong word, but UK police issued circa 17,000 fines for breach of COVID regs March through May. French police issued 915,000 March through April and we're a similar size country.

Yes - their messaging was very clear - their lockdown (in Paris at least) very tough. You'll remember seeing the news stories in March where Parisians had to print off a pass with a reason if they wanted to go out on the streets. Food shopping, dog walking, going to work all OK. No pass = fine.
It's almost as if their government took the situation seriously and introduced clear and consistent rules and procedures to be followed, rather than wanking on about "use common sense" and "we don't need to spell out every little thing".
Back to my point about how we're led.

There's also the fact UK police were actively encouraged not to fine except as a last resort.

I'd say this isn't true. Germany's anti lockdown protests have been far bigger than the ones here, there's been loads of reports of people not abiding by the rules on holiday islands (just like Brits.) France has skirted the issue of rule breaking by having much more lax post lockdown rules, which they are reining in due to the rate of infection.
Most people in most countries are responding the same way I reckon. Weary compliance with some selective and irregular rule breaking. I wouldn't believe anyone on here who says they've abided by the rules 100%.

While that may be true, leadership will still be an important factor undermining the degree to which a population is compliant. You'll never achieve 100% (and it would probably be worrying in other ways if you did), but I believe that the level of adherence to the rule of law will be proportional to the respect for the rule of law. And that respect can be easily lost through the leadership being inconsistent, lacking integrity and poor communication.

People will always try to pin in on the leadership. Politics rearing it’s head. But looking around the globe, the situation suggests It a global issue that countries locally are struggling to contain. Some better than others, but all struggling.
