From what I recall he was sacked because he thought he owned and ran the club.

Blimey, not seen my old mate Charlie for years, last time was at Peterborough when we drew 1-1
Brings back memories of away games on the pirate coach and all the old characters.
Bob, Spud Albert, Glen and Ray Bruce who died at a relatively young age
Charlie was originally a dustman in Leyton, hope he and his long time partner Janet are still ok

I saw Charlie and Janet at our last game and having spoke with them they were fine and well then. Our last game being when fans attended.

Charlie once told me he was given a life long season ticket and left the club on his own accord , πŸ€”πŸ€”

There was a lot of upset when he and his good wife were both sacked at the same time by Uncle Bazza.

As I recall Charlie had a falling out with Hearn over how much the pitch was being used because Hearn was renting it out to teams from City banks and the like in midweek. In the end Charlie walked out, but was given a lifetime season ticket as a thank you.

As far as i recall. Charlie wanted to do things his way . Barrold was not going to let that happen at HIS club. There was a parting of the ways.

There was more to it than that, Mrs Hasler was also removed from her position in the club.

Like I say Barrold was not going to tolerate a group of people at HIS club wanting to do things THEIR way.

Play- Off Semi Final .
Stewards opened gates on a seated area
Where O's fans were sat & the hordes piled in
sending O's Fans spilling over onto the pitch &
Into the terracing .

He missed out.

The atmosphere in the terrace was the best I’ve ever experienced as an orient fan.

Remember it well, I was on the terrace and saw it all unfolding, it was not Rotherham fans consisting of parents and kids they were letting to our part of the ground ,no, It was the p!ssed up late comers that had left the pub just before kick-off.

As hooky says the atmosphere on the terrace that night was something special.
