Interesting interview from NT there, did I just hear right he's had the players playing in masks  May have heard wrong as 909 round here is drowned out by some pirate music station

Seemed a bit more pointed than usual, gave the Govt a good slating which gets a thumbs up from me. Very supportive of the EFL, which is surprising given our previous history with them.

Probably similar to what he said on Talksport this morning.

No you heard wrong

In the U.S state of Massachusetts, sports teams wear face masks .
Including 1 he coaches.

Cheers, it was fading in and out with the musical interlude, wouldn't recommend that particular remix for the charts

He also said the club was paying for the members of all at the clubs families
who may have been in contact .

No mention if that would include Dulcet Dave or those up in the gallery area

Yes tbh I wouldn't expect anything less from T&T on that front, perhaps a good thing to not be surprised they're looking after the staff.

He did also reiterate that we had a squad to play the game tonight so be interesting under what grounds PHE stopped it, especially now hearing WHU have players testing positive.

Very interesting regards WHU. So the 3 positives were in the ground when told - so they left. Whats the difference between our players "infecting the ground" and WHU's (except the number of them)? An infection is an infection.

Travis mentioned that the ground has had a
deep clean in the last couple of days ,

I see that Luton have made 9 changes from there starting line up because they feel the league game on Saturday is far more important to them .

It shows that although Travis comends the EFL ,
He has them over a barrel with awarding the
game to Spurs.

As he said punishing clubs for testing will lead to others refusing testing & that isnt good for sport or
the population in general .

If they’re paying for everyone in attendance at the ground, it’s going to cost a small fortune.

Tottenham paid for the 35 O's Staff

O's will pay for Family members of said Staff .

There was no mention of those in the ground !

Unless they are on the payroll, my understand is that the club aren’t testing them.

Not on the payroll so won't be tested. Were they even there on Saturday?

May need an assist from tuffers here if I missed any detail in the ropey signal... What I heard was that we had a squad ready to play but to was the health authorities who wouldn't let it go ahead and there was slow \ poor communication about the decision. That led into the statement about the Govt being the real villains of the piece.

Im pretty sure he said the EFL had to cancel the game as
Public Health only got back to them very late so No one from PHE
Could categorically say the ground or safety process was unsafe

As far as Nigel was concerned the Ground had been deep cleaned & we had
A team ready to play .

If Public Health had of called for it to be postponed i think it would be all over
the press , but as already stated , if no one checks the ground (blah blah ).

It may just have been , things need to be discussed further & punishing Orient
was not a viable option as technically we have followed EFL rules .

EFL have followed government guidelines too .

There are 2 possible dates that would be good for both clubs to play.

The EFL could still put us out though so its not done yet.

Slightly easier read by bt

NT mentioned the number 35 & i missed the next comment , but it was to do with graduated
test results , it's possible more expensive tests are available & will show up immediately .

At a guess the number 35 may realate to asymptomatic
35 -- x could be symptomatic
X-100 is full on Covid .

Thats only me guessing though .

But as i stated somewhere else recently
Someone on a podcast i listen to was at a party in
L.A & she was tested before the party & sat outside with her
husband & 2 kids, also tested & 20 minutes or so later they had the
results & were allowed into the party .

This was done for all guests so would have cost a few quid.

Timing of this couldn't be worse for them.

It was "only" two players and one staff member, but since the tests the rest of the squad and coaching staff would have been training and in tactics/pre match meals/meetings with them. So based on what we know about how the virus spreads more of them could have had it by the time they were withdrawn an hour before kickoff. Official advice is if anyone in your bubble has Covid all others in the bubble need to self isolate - so why was the game not called off when it was impossible to retest the others and verify they were Covid free prior to kickoff? And were Hull even informed about this before the kick off? Can imagine they'd be pretty miffed if not.

Looks like a compromise has been offered whereby the O's will have to forfeit the tie but Spurs have offered to cover any losses LOFC incur by not playing the game. It would be a decent result for everybody, EFL rule invoked, Spurs won't have to play another fixture and the O's won't lose out financially.
