As a genuine question, do you think the EFL would dock points or impose sanctions for COVID-19 postponements?

Part of me is worried about their historical handling of events!

If we are following efl protocol regarding testing
How can they deduct points from us ?

Exactly, but it’s the EFL.

I struggle to see how we can stand on two legs saying we can play the kids tonight v spurs (to secure sky cash) but cannot play the kids against walsall?

Surely if we can field a team against spurs, we can also field a team against Walsall - especially considering its away from home.

Yep, unless there is another outbreak at Orient, then we should be playing. Walsall rubbing their hands in glee. 3 easy points plus a good goal difference for them

Playing a weakened team in a cup game will only potentially impact the club as they are the only ones who can be affected by being knocked out.

Playing a weakened team in a league game can affect the integrity of the whole season. That's why there are rules against it.
Liverpool played their EFL Cup game at Villa last season with the youth team but their league game at West Ham was postponed.

Which makes a mockery of EFL Caraboa cup rules

Each Club shall play its full available strength in and during all Cup Competition matches, unless some satisfactory reason is given. The Board will from time to time issue a policy as to what constitutes 'full available strength'. In the event of the explanation not being deemed satisfactory the Management Committee shall have power to impose such penalties as they shall think fit. The provisions governing disciplinary matters in relation to the Competition are contained in Rule 24.

It was Liverpool. Who would be brave enough to ask them to forfeit because they were playing in the Club World Cup?

Then postponed the league game.

Exactly.

My point was who would ask Liverpool to forfeit the EFL Cup when their first team squad was occupied elsewhere?

It was widely accepted that they could play a weakened team in the Cup and then postpone the following league game so why couldnt Orient play the youth team tonight and cancel on Saturday?

Which is exactly the reason we arent going to forfeit .

Let them force us out & then we can open the can of worms

Possibly because Brisbane Road is closed and PH Waltham Forest would not allow it to be used

Rule 1.1

‘Home Club’ means the Club on whose ground any Cup Competition match should be or should have been played or where ground sharing is in operation or the Clubs agree to play on a neutral ground the Club whose name appears first

https://www.efl.com/carabao-cup/about-t ... gulations/

In theory precedent being set by the Champions league games all played in portugal after the return
another ground could be easily used , if brissy road is deemed unsafe.

I dont know why Spen is determined that Orient should forfeit tonight rather than the game be postponed and rearranged.
