Re: Supporters allowed back in from October?
Dont know why they'd use an arbitrary 1000. Surely just reduce the % from 30% to something like 10%. It would mean Orient could have around 900-1000 which makes sense in terms of toilets but teams like Arsenal could have 6000, which again is sensible considering they have about 200 toilets!
I'd imagine the money the Premier League has, it wont really matter whats safe and what isn't, anyway.

Interesting that France are currently allowing crowds in for football & Racing events when their number is currently going through the roof..... 10'500 new cases on the 12th alone (compared to UK 3'500 on the same day)

Premier League Clubs have come out and said that it's currently not financially viable for them to open the grounds with numbers the government wants.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 11:05 am Dont know why they'd use an arbitrary 1000. Yes, but 1,000 could be viable for L2 clubs.JimbO wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 12:24 pmPremier League Clubs have come out and said that it's currently not financially viable for them to open the grounds with numbers the government wants.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 11:05 am Dont know why they'd use an arbitrary 1000. Gloucester v Harlequins last night was watched by 1,000 fans and I’ve been to Two Non League games already including the Bishops Stortford v Orient friendly .

Over our local academy Astro turf pitch Sunday. Doing the dog walking thing in the wide open spaces in the adjacent park. Noticed a Game going on, on the bank overlooking the pitch at least 200 spectators, probably many more. No social distancing, no masks. Car park full. One toilet area.
Still, Covid don’t exist in our town! Or people just don’t give a toss.
Bring back supporters when it’s safe. Irrespective of Government guidelines if I don’t feel comfortable going, I won’t.

Poor them. Sums up the premier league. They are all making a profit from TV rights alone, god forbid they take a small hit to let the actual fans be at a game.JimbO wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 12:24 pmPremier League Clubs have come out and said that it's currently not financially viable for them to open the grounds with numbers the government wants.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2020 11:05 am Dont know why they'd use an arbitrary 1000. Wouldn't surprise me if streaming and TV is the way clubs prefer people to watch games going forward and they build smaller stadiums, with less costs, as a result.

Re: Supporters allowed back in from October?
was always gonna be the way that football would come back with fans from the bottom up.
In london the infrastructure can't cope with the amount of people at normal times let alone when social distancing is required.

Re: Supporters allowed back in from October?
personally would've thought that we'd need to have a least 500 fans in each stand to make it financially viable to open.
e.g 1,000 fans in only opening two sides of the ground whatever ones it may be.

I don't agree with this partial reopening.
It would be best to keep all grounds shut until we're happy to open them up fully and let everyone back in.

Re: Supporters allowed back in from October?
To be honest i have not been worried about catching it from the start. I know there is a risk, but there is risk of something everywhere i go.I ride a motorbike and i would think i am more at risk from that than Covid

That's nice.
Presumably others aren't at risk from you riding your motorbike tho?

Will be an administrative nightmare , many disgruntled fans, Lotto system criticised , even more so if we keep playing well and winning.

Re: Supporters allowed back in from October?
Just been e-mailed by the club asking if I want to go on the list to be in the ballot when the ground re-opens.
We could put down upto 6 names on it.

Re: Supporters allowed back in from October?
Agreed.
And you just know that 'certain' fans will come out of the lucky draw, as they always do.
This sounds like a ridiculous amount of administration, especially when you think it's likely the governments rules will change again and again.
Best to hold off until it's safe to let all of us fans in together.

Re: Supporters allowed back in from October?
Have you got 6 season tickets Jimbo ??
Just asking ‘cos we’ve got 2 and have applied for a 3rd which hasn’t been acknowledged or money taken.
Does this mean we can only put 2 names down ??
