THE MATCH
There was good and bad to take about todaya game, i know that we let a goal in which we still onow that we defo need another centre back apart from that we played ok we do need to play the ball on the floor more and not hoof it in the air for angol to run on to we are better than that a win is a win lets take it to the next game

Re: THE MATCH
I think it was the right back that was at fault for todayβs goal, not Happe in my opinion.faith1234 wrote: βSat Sep 05, 2020 6:51 pm There was good and bad to take about todaya game, i know that we let a goal in which we still onow that we defo need another centre back apart from that we played ok we do need to play the ball on the floor more and not hoof it in the air for angol to run on to we are better than that a win is a win lets take it to the next game![]()

Re: THE MATCH
Didn't watch the stream today, saw a random site online suggesting we went 4-4-2 in the second half, was that accurate or just a badly formatted team sheet?

Re: THE MATCH
Tuffers do you really think that's a Hoof Ball from Bobby Moore...i've got to ask did you ever see Bobby Moore play live or on tv regularly. That was Bobby to a 'T' in the 90th minute of a World Cup final, no panic perfectly calm and plays a ball for Hurst to take in his stride. A Hoof ball at that time in a final would have been in row Z by any other player. He played that type of pass every week and yes i did see him live on many occassions, unfortunately i'm old enough.tuffers#1 wrote: βSat Sep 05, 2020 7:02 pmHoof Ballfaith1234 wrote: βSat Sep 05, 2020 6:51 pm There was good and bad to take about todaya game, i know that we let a goal in which we still onow that we defo need another centre back apart from that we played ok we do need to play the ball on the floor more and not hoof it in the air for angol to run on to we are better than that a win is a win lets take it to the next game![]()
Please Tuffers dont argue the point as you would be demeaning a legend, just retire on this subject in good grace.

Re: THE MATCH
Bobby Moore was a great defender and also a wonderful passer of the ball. I watched the 1966 final live on tv and can still recall every goal scored by both sides on that magic day that we won the World Cup. For our 4th goal, it went like this......Bobby Moore had the ball in the dying moments of the 2nd half of the extra time that had been played. Bobby was just outside his own penalty box, he looked up and saw his West Ham team mate Geoff Hurst in open space and then played an inch perfect pass up-field to him, the rest is history.AckneyAwks wrote: βSat Sep 05, 2020 8:06 pmTuffers do you really think that's a Hoof Ball from Bobby Moore...i've got to ask did you ever see Bobby Moore play live or on tv regularly. As to how good Bobby was, well here is what Pele thought of him !

Over two decades, the Brazilian ruled football. FFT gets some of the most sought-after answers from the man himself'
My toughest opponent.....βItβs hard to say. You see, whoever I played against I had the best defender marking me, but the best were Bobby Moore and Franz Beckenbauer. Beckenbauer was fantastic β very intelligent, very tough to beat. And Bob was the best centre-back Iβve seen β so quick up here [points to his head].β

Re: THE MATCH
My last word on it..a few seconds before he played that Fantastic pass to Hurst the Germans played a cross into the area, who was it who calmly chested the ball down in his own area played the ball to a team-mate who then returned the ball to him. The next phase is your video clip in which you try to present a "Hoof ball" you couldant be more wrong. Everything about that moment in a World Cup Final, 90th minute, players going down with cramp before extra time started and here is a guy with not a hair out of place calmly picking out his club mate...Tuffers you just picked the wrong video, no worries mate.
I agree with you about a ball over the top is the easiest way to turn a defence but like Good Sex it's all about the Timing

Re: THE MATCH
So you agree with what i say Awks
Good/Great Footballers do the simple
Brilliantly .
Im not saying Moore was playing Hoof Ball .
Hoof Ball is a description of a simple pass over the top
of a defence, by those who really dont undesrstand the game & get caught up in the we need to play on the floor .
Before you jump in awks, try to read & understand
Why i responded to the post that i did ,
where i shared the goal clip .
Its as Simple as Football .
Read, understand & then respond
