1st player to sign up for active service in WW1, first club to enlist en masse.
Barry Galvin, he's the guy on the pitch with the mic making the team announcements etc. He's also a regular panelist on Orient Hour.
Jesus Christ. Is there anything left at the bottom of that barrel?Andy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 3:27 pm1st player to sign up for active service in WW1, first club to enlist en masse.
1st club to play League matches at Wembley stadium
A club with a huge history of young players coming through the ranks
A club that has survived numerous scrapes with bankruptcy
A club that has overcome everything thrown at it
A club that is now getting double the attendance it was in the mid 80s
A club at the forefront of streaming outside of the Prem
A club with one of the most successful community programmes
A club that has a unique name, there is no town or city or United there is only one Orient.
Yep, our club is different.
Larrett Roebuck was killed in 1st world war before the O's meeting in Fulham .Andy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 3:27 pm1st player to sign up for active service in WW1, first club to enlist en masse.

The 1st Pro footballer to sign up for the footballers battalion was an O and we were the 1st English club to sign en masse.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 6:50 pmLarrett Roebuck was killed in 1st world war before the O's meeting in Fulham .Andy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 3:27 pm1st player to sign up for active service in WW1, first club to enlist en masse.

Yep, our club is different.
Hence we cant have had the 1st player signed up ww1
Also 11 hearts players signed up in November 1914
O's signed up in December
Most clubs have young players coming through the ranks
Lots of clubs have survived numerous run ins with bankruptcy
What have we had thrown at us that other clubs havent?
( the mind boggles)
This season unlike the 80s we will have our smallest attendance ever ( Zero)
Most community schemes are as good as the next one
A club that has a unique name, there is no town or city or United there is only one Orient. ?
That statement used to be factual in the sense we were not named after an Area
Nothing to do with town city or united .
We lost that uniqueness when the Leyton came back.
That uniquue privelage belongs now only to Arsenal
We are not that different !!
If an Orient player was indeed the 1st professional to sign upAndy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 8:50 pmThe 1st Pro footballer to sign up for the footballers battalion was an O and we were the 1st English club to sign en masse.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 6:50 pmLarrett Roebuck was killed in 1st world war before the O's meeting in Fulham .Andy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 3:27 pm

To quote a zero attendance is being silly as clubs with 60, 000 capacity have technically played in front of no fans, we all know our home crowds have doubled since the 80s.
The never evening problem on here is the endless pursuit of finding something negative out of something positive.
It's a really good video, well put together. Why not just get behind the team from the off, sure, if we have a bad match discuss where improvements could be made, but honestly the negativity on here is astounding at times.
Have a lovely weekend.
It amazes me that the club have never tapped into your positive energy Wumpole. Give this man a job someone.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 10:11 pm What’s it for? I mean it almost convinced me to support the club I guess
Andy, you know when you walk in a pub and a certain person you least want to see is there and you do a immediate U turn and walk out...well you just met him!tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 9:44 pmIf an Orient player was indeed the 1st professional to sign upAndy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 8:50 pmThe 1st Pro footballer to sign up for the footballers battalion was an O and we were the 1st English club to sign en masse.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 6:50 pm

Then Steve Jenkins would have included it in his book &
Numerous interviews.
Donald Bell is named as arguably the 1st professional to sign up.

Weve gone from the 1st club to sign en masse to being the 1st english club.
Its daft to quote the mid 80s attendeces in comparison to now
Even dafter to say zero fans have been in 60,000 stadia .
Just proves we are not unique in zerofans attending.
Yes its a good video but
This lazy quote from most football clubs about we are a unique club
Is daft when we have pathetic reasons given for our uniqueness.
It could have been pointed out along with the 1 unique point you listed about Wembley
That we are probably the only club to have been visited by the future king , because of our clubs
Strong showing during the war . As well as receiving funding from Royalty.
If you are going to quote stuff as FACT
make sure it is FACT .
Please, that is all i ask .
You are supposed to be someone who Orient fans respect
Dont be lazy with your reporting or reasoning or explanations
Of Uniqueness with regard to this CLUB .

Ok , how about we’re unique because we just about survived having B ecchetti as our owner. And before you say there has been other bad owners elsewhere, there’s only been one Francesco B ecchettituffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 9:44 pmIf an Orient player was indeed the 1st professional to sign upAndy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 8:50 pmThe 1st Pro footballer to sign up for the footballers battalion was an O and we were the 1st English club to sign en masse.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 6:50 pm
