Predictions This Season

Post them here.
Could be final position, how the season will go, specific players performance, etc...and we can bump this in May.
Final Position: 16th
Story of the season: We will get off to a relatively good start prompting the 'Ross In' brigade to get carried away. Moving into November we will go on a losing skid that puts us in the bottom 3 by mid-Jan. Ling will stick with his boy but it's obvious it isn't working. Beating a few bigger teams unexpectedly, we will move away in the final few months after a bit of forced investment from the board and stumble over the line in the bottom half. Ross will 'resign' stating that its 'the best decision for everyone' and probably end up coming back after 6 months as a coach again.
Top Scorer: Sotiriou - 12
Best Player - JMD
Biggest Disappointment - Wilkinson

My prediction for this season (and any other, come to that) is that some boarders will continually dig out certain people at the club, in an effort to show that they were right all along.

What if they are right, though?

3. Mansfield Town
4. Tranmere Rovers
5. Exeter City
6. Bradford City
7. Cheltenham Town
8. Forest Green Rovers
9. Port Vale
10. Colchester United
11. Walsall
12. Southend United
13. Newport County
14. Scunthorpe United
15. Leyton Orient
16. Grimsby Town
17. Harrogate Town
18. Crawley Town
19. Carlisle United
20. Cambridge United
21. Barrow
22. Oldham Athletic
23. Stevenage
24. Morecambe

We have two or three players who are only National League quality so I think we're going to really struggle this season . We're simply not strong enough .I think we'll finish outside the bottom two but not by much . 20th placed finish .

17th would do for me. After that we will have lots of good new blood coming in at reasonable wages. Then we can go for the playoffs in the following season.

Despite one of the biggest budgets in the division, we won't make the play offs, coming in 10th. Ross will stay.

PL will be in no hurry to let fans back in. They can make dosh with more advertising and save on matchday costs. Expect a medium size club to sell their ground and move to a "media friendly " small stadium in a few years. Championship will break away and open to invited clubs only, no relegation to leagues below. The rest will be history. On a positive note, Orient will have a good season football wise 20/21.

Craig Clay will score a goal.
Mid-table finish for the team
All the current strikers fail to live up to expectations and score no more than 8 goals each.
WE score less than 50 goals and conceded 40+ goals in the season.
"Ross out" mania reaches storm proportions by the end of October.
Ross is not sacked this season.
We get knocked out of the first round of the League (Carabao) Cup.
We get knocked out in the second round of the FA Cup.
We do not reach the knock out stages of the TinPot Trophy.
BUT, I hope I am proved wrong on most of the above.

I suspect we'll be around 14th , out of the cups early. Top scorers will probably be Wilkinson & JMD with eight or so goals. I think the other forwards will struggle for goals and Sotiriou will be played mostly out of position on one of the wings. I think we'll be tougher to break down than last season because of the presence of Cisse (god help us if he gets injured) but we'll still be vulnerable down the flanks.
Without Cisse we'd be struggling to stay out of the relegation scrap but with him we're probably safe but not threatening a promotion push.
Next summer will be a big rebuild and that'll make or break Ross. Jobi will retire. Coulson, Widdowson, Dayton, Turley and Wright will be 32 or close to it.

Currently our defence concerns me so If we could get Marsh back on loan I would be pleased. I would play him at RB

The Embleton / Ling partnership will do enough to keep us in the zone between being good enough to persuade the sceptics that they're up to it, and being bad enough to wake up the easily pleased.
Purgatory, with no away trips and a sullen 2,500 in the ground for home matches.
11th, "Ross is a young coach who is developing" (ignoring the fact we have one of the largest budgets in the division, very supportive owners and crowds, and other clubs around us are going to the wall), more opportunities fumbled, and we all inch another year closer to senility without seeing Orient back in the third division.

Surely the team needs to be finalised before making predictions? When that’s complete people will be in a better position to predict where we will finish.

No matter who is in it, a football team can only perform as well as its leader. And we already know who that is.

So if we signed Messi, Mbappe, Gnabry and Thomas Müller this summer we’d still come 11th?
We’ve got a shot at being top 7, but won’t be a disaster if we don’t as we’re still in a slight transition.
Fancy Angol will come good - unlucky with injuries last season and didn’t get a consistent run of games, but will do damage if given the service. Wilkinson and Ruel will chip in with goals, JMD will he dangerous and we’ll be solid in the middle with Cissé + Jobi/Wright/Clay. We’ll also have one of the best keepers in the league with Vigouroux.
If we’re bottom 6 in November Ross will be gone - the haters won’t agree but these owners don’t f*** around when it comes to making tough decisions. They got rid of Davis after 15 games when it wasn’t working and weren’t afraid to sack Fletcher quickly when there was BTS stuff going on.

Final position: 16th
Story of the season: more painfully uninspiring home performances with the same 4-3-3 tactic over and over again, no plan B. Strikers don't score due to be unsuited to the system but we stay just clear of trouble thanks to the additional solidity Cissé brings to the side.
Brief FA cup run ends in round 2, missing out on a cracking draw to a big Prem side in round 3. At least we don't lose to Maldon...
Embleton stays but social media and forums have heated debate about whether he (and Ling) should be in charge of the big summer rebuild.
Top scorer: Johnson (10)
Disappointment: Wilkinson & Angol again, along with Sotiriou who can't break through our dour tactics deep on the wing
@The Mindsweep I think you're bang on with that media friendly stadium plan. I personally think Orient should get ahead of the game and do it to be free from the clutches of Hearn and his ever increasing rent costs.

Have to say that I agree that Sotiriou will be played out of position and by the time we realise our strongest team we will be struggling just above the drop. Will come good in the Christmas rush of games when we bring in a really decent loanee (probably from Spurs) and will end up in 14th.
We will concede too many soft goals to be higher than mid table.
