Why won't this be streamed?

Don't see the point in this small gesture for Justin if fans cannot watch.

I think it's a pisstake that Spurs are sending an Under 23s. They need to show a bit of respect, not to us but to Justin. Or if he isn't that important to them then don't bother.

If we're gonna do it I'd rather a decent strength Gillingham, Newport, Fisher, etc.

It’s not their fault.

We’re the ones trying to fulfil the promise to have a suitable tribute to Justin. This ain’t the way to go about it.

they've just finished their season, they start again very soon the thinking is probably about giving their players the max rest verses keeping the fitness to an optimum level whilst trying to keep muscle injuries to a min.

Have a friendly, but don't have a behind closed door game Vs an U23 team as a JE tribute, it's insulting.

This.

Fully understand if Spurs don’t want to send a first team down to play us. Despite the length of time he was with them, he’s just another player compared to the icon he is at our club.

But given his involvement with their legends, I’ve no doubt they could rustle up an old boys Spurs legends to come down for a memorial game. That would be a nice touch.

I would have thought it better to wait until crowds were allowed back again, even if it means next season, as there would never be a better opportunity to raise funds for the JE3 cause.

There is possibly a problem with fitting a date in later in the season as I think I heard that we will have a lot more midweek games this season.

The game was made 2 days ago. Having a pop at Spurs for not sending a full strength team when their captain has sponsored our shirts for next season is ridiculous.

Have we said that it's a Justin Edinburgh tribute game? If so agree that it's very poor rather than waiting for a better time and arranging against the Spurs first team.

They’ve just said it’s for the JE3 cup. It sounds like it was actually Orient’s idea and they had been talking to Spurs’ u23s staff.

This.

Nailed on that an agreement to play Spurs U23 was reached and we’ve subsequently and very clunkily stuck this Cup thing on it.

With all due respect to our players, if Spurs were to field a full strength team the result could well be embarrassing for us. At a time when Ross is trying to build confidence and learn which player best suits a certain role to be soundly thrashed could well have a detrimental effect on the clubs preparations. The u23 team, whilst a stern test is a far more realistic opposition for our team.
What would be more suitable is for a Legends match between Spurs and Orient to take place at the end of the season, ideally at Spurs as most O's fans would buy a ticket to see the new stadium, but failing that at Orient. Match could also be streamed with streaming profits to the JE3 Foundation.

I look forward to us drawing Spurs, City, or Liverpool in the FA Cup then and you trot out the same quite embarrassing lines.

It has all been said above - the action of Spurs is insulting to the memory of Justin.

OK, Disoriented, yes in an FAC tie with a crowd behind you a team can sometimes play at their limit and for whatever reason the big clubs players have an under par day, hence the occasional giant killing.
Most times though it will be a comfortable win for the big club.
Remember Sutton beating Coventry only to be beaten 8-0 at Norwich in the next round!
Yes we got a late equaliser v Arsenal and it gave us a boost, but we were thrashed and lucky to escape with a 5-0 defeat at The Emirates in the replay, if we are being honest.
I stand by what I said, for our lads to be beaten possibly by 6 or more goals at this stage of preparation would not be good.
Should we draw a big club in this year's FAC and provide a shock then I will be delighted to have you remind me of this post. But seriously at this stage gaining confidence is imperative, not the wisest decision to align this match with Justin perhaps and as I've suggested a Legends match at the end of the season would I think be more appropriate.

Friendlies aren't judged on the results, it's all about minutes and trying out systems. The better the opposition, the better the challenge and the more players get out of it, despite the score.

As it is to benefit the JE3 Foundation in the memory of Justin i would love to see the game played at Spurs new stadium, this would ensure a larger attendance and help the awareness of the cause.
The match itself does not need to be too serious and a mixture of past and present players from both clubs would be fantastic. Maybe when crowds are able to attend, say the pre-season for 2021/22 would be a suitable date.
The result is not important but the memory of Justin is.

Yes, they played awfully and we played really well, which can happen occasionally. We narrowly avoided relegation and they won promotion that season BTW. Wouldn't want to run the risk of being heavily beaten at this moment in time if I were Ross.

We will have to disagree Ad. I think it's vital we don't have a heavy defeat at this stage of preparation. But it's just my opinion.
