I think any players already signed earning over £68,000 will contribute only that amount to the to the budget players under 21? won'y count.

What part do fees play in this eg pay a player small wage but large signing on fee ( wages up front )

Glad to see agents' fees included in the cap, hopefully might make clubs think twice about paying these parasites and cut them down to size

Clubs in League Two voted 22-2 in favour of the salary cap, it basically gives clubs in the lower leagues more power when negotiating contracts than all the players and to ensure they all stay in business and live within their means.

Can't see too many players moving South if this fully kicks in within the next few seasons though, due to living costs being more expensive in the South, particularly London.

We'll need to get single players who sign for us flat sharing with each other to half the costs, but I think we do that anyway

That's the big downer for London clubs particularly. We didn't get many from truly up North but someone from, say Midlands area would think twice... £1500 in London vs up North doesn't go nearly as far.

Its much more expensive to live in any of those places than scunthorpe.

6 of our players are under 21, so they don't count. So, 18 are here already so capped (18 x £68K), means that we have £276k left to play with.

Mind you, taxes, fees, bonuses etc. are also included, so I dunno what that would all add up to.

Bit confusing, I thought it was £1.5 million rather than £1.2 Million for League 2 ?
Wonder how all this will pan out and how can they enforce it this season or the season after ( if they do ) with some players who are already signed on long term contracts at high wages that will probably take some clubs over this salary cap of £1.5 Million.

Hang on, if a club had 24 players on existing contracts, all capped at £68k, wouldn't that put them over the limit?!!

Sorry - answering my own question... it's a cap, so not all will be set at that rate. Doh!

Probably more I bet some don't earn £68k

If some only earn £40K that's what they will use. I think the club have been quite canny waiting till after the cap was introduced gives us a bit of leverage in negotiations.
