The worrying thing is they won't be the only club going out of business because of this pandemic.

I can see a lot of small scale Phoenix clubs appearing in response to closures. Likely many will be run by amateurs like Southend.

I fear for some clubs in Essex. Witham Town, Heybridge Swifts and Braintree Town in particular.

This is just the start. It’ll be conference north/south teams next, followed by a couple of conference ones, then maybe a League club or two?

All very sad.

Don't shed too many tears for them.

I remember the cup meeting with them well.

Sad to see, never like seeing any team go under, they will be missed. Suspect as already said in this post, there will be more to come.

Me too. Was a cracker in the end. Droylesden just fell apart once we got back in it.

Imagine they will be one of many that rely on their bar-takings to keep the club going. No bar: No club. An awful shame: lots of historic clubs are going to struggle to stay afloat.

Paul-José M'Poku, good player and only 18 at the time of this game. On loan from Spurs and after his loan spell at the Os, he joined Belgium club Standard Liège and has played for some good clubs since.

Pity we could not have signed him.

I was sitting in the west stand and when the second goal went in three blokes got up , and walked out. Throwing season ticket/match ticket on the pitch and shouting/gesturing to the players
I wonder how they felt when they got home to the words ' you must be happy winning 8-2 '
M'Poku was a lovely player, we used to have a wager when he come on as sub how long it would be before he got tackled followed by a booking
Their fans at the end of the game started the conga in South stand about 20 of them
Norwich away next, tough game but I fancy us !
