Wouldn’t mind them Coming up. Enjoyed a trip to their place many years ago. If I recall one of our backs picked up a nasty injury, can’t remember who.

Used to get good support, don’t know what its like now. OK ground too. Don’t like the town centre much but some decent places close by for a weekend away.

They were averaging about 3500 in the Conference North, which is incredible really for 6th tier football. Now averaging around 4300. They'll be over 5500 in League Two I reckon.

Great club, lovely and proper ground and a good away day. As OP says they are buying really well and consistent, so could see it.

I remember when they were briefly Manchester's second club. They deserve to be in the Football League. But then again, we deserve to be in League One.

I remember most of us were saying the same thing about Salford a couple of seasons ago. Even with spending money it’s not easy to get out of the National League. Fair enough Salford did get promotion but it wasn’t as champions as we beat them to it

I remember taking my eldest son up there and promptly sat him on the barriers behind the goal and a jumped up numpty told me to get him down. It’s not like there were 5,000 of us, there was plenty of space all along the terrace. I did tell him what I thought of his jumped up attitude.

Their long-suffering fans certainly deserve a break - a Championship club in 2001-2 and for a few seasons prior to that, to being relegated to the National League North four tiers below in 2012-13, that is one helluva drop!

So good luck to them.

Re-Elected 5 times as a 4th division club so not the greatest of falls from grace
