Re: Essex CCC
No shame in being runners-up in such a competition and going for the game throughout is Essex's style in the T20. But it does stick in the throat as IMO we could have won on another day. Onward to the One-Day Cup next month and the County Championship next week.
Esssssex, Essssssex. C'mon you Eagles.

Re: Essex CCC
Our One Day side will have to include Pepper, Das, Rymell etc . Got to learn to read the game. That' s why I'm so disappointed with Walter and Snater and Lawrence yesterday.

Re: Essex CCC
Yep there is a time for big shots but 29-0 needing 116 from 18 overs @ 6.44 just needs sensible batting. get to halfway with 65/70 on the board and 8 wickets in hand and it was as good as won. Sams still nearly got there with sensible batting and the odd boundary.
Chance for silverware well and truly missed.

Re: Essex CCC
Nick Browne out of the rest of this match with concussion after being hit on the head by a short ball - Robin Das is his concussion substitute.
Browne passed his concussion test on pitch yesterday though he was sick during the last over. he failed an off field concussion test.

Re: Essex CCC
They said yesterday on commentary that Chef and Anthony McGrath are sitting down at the end of the season to discuss Cooks future (contract/retire). I think McGrath should lock him in the County Ground and not let him out until he agrees a new two year contract.

Re: Essex CCC
Another very good day, Kent still 247 behind and lost a wicket to the last ball of the day. A very good century from Critchley.
Re: Essex CCC
Terrific watch today - especially the last 10 or so overs of the Essex innings. Here's hoping - a win withinn 3 days and lots of rain at Lords!

Re: Essex CCC
22-3 Poor wicket - this will be referred to the MCC inspector. too much seam movement and turn for a first day pitch

Re: Essex CCC
Going to have to do it with 10 as Shane Snater will play no further part in the game as he's torn his achilies.

Re: Essex CCC
83 to win. We will make hard work of it.
As I write this, we lose two wickets.
C'mon Nick Browne, take us to a win.

Re: Essex CCC
Hampshire have a great chance, this pitch is awful it's doing too much to be a fair contest between bat and ball.
