Monday morning. Covid testing on the squad and staff done on Thursday all returned negative today.
Be great to see the boys back in training pending a resumption date which should be circulated next week.

Be interesting to see the testing protocol. Seems a bit early to me but I guess the clubs probably have an idea on when the season will start and need to start pre season ASAP

A few games of 5-A-Side will do our squad the world of good.

Wondering how much better Cisse could be when he is match fit? He had played 3 matches all season when he came on loan

I watched Hearn say that crowds will not be allowed back into events till at least Oct. Matchbook has been approved and is working with the government to undertake boxing events with limited crowd numbers and my understanding is that they would steadily increase to the point of return.
That suggests that maybe we will be allowed back in to Brisbane Road maybe Oct possibly Nov depending on how it all pans out.

Latest government guidelines states crowds at open air grounds can start back in October with reduced capacities that must conform to social distance guidelines . Pilot schemes to be introduced with between 25and 50 %capacity. Orient have currently sold 2700 or so season tickets. My guess is capacity will be restricted to season tickets only not exceeding 3000.

Be interesting to see if any out of our contract players train with the club.

Lol.
Well I'm told that you would not see Sotirou there. Has actually been refusing a new deal since last November, which is before he started hitting the headlines. Clearly off somewhere else....

Possibly waiting for Peterborough to sell Toney. It appears wrong that we are still paying someone who doesn't want to be here, but we have to in order to get compo. The young fella is not endearing himself to the fans at present should he suddenly decide to stay

Can’t because he’s not technically a contracted player
If we pay him week to week we have to be compensated by Whoever it is he’s joining.
Peterborough chairman stated last week they have a striker ready and lined up when Toney goes. Could well be
Ruel Who is probabLy going to be fourth choice there.

After what Ling said today, if there was any doubt before, about whether Sotiriou would be an Orient player next season, then there certainly isnt now.
he's gone 100%

How long do we have to keep up this weekly wage charade to get comp? Months if he doesn't find a club? Money for nothing isn't it

Yes, it certainly now looks that way. I think Ruel would be making a mistake if he leaves us . As others have said he's only played a quarter of a season for us and although he did well he hasn't actually achieved anything yet . As a replacement I wouldn't mind seeing us re-sign kazaiah Sterling on loan .From the way the Orient staff were talking about him he sounds like he could be an exciting prospect .

If Ruel doesnt want to accept the deal then he can go, only thing on the flipside is that today's announcement makes it hard for him to stay as he's essentially been thrown under the proverbial bus, if he goes he'll be hated for being George Porter 2.0, if he stays he may get some hate due to holding the club to ransom for a better deal
Of course if he stays and scores a bucket load of goals that'll soon be forgotten, and if he goes there will be some that will still make this Ling's and Embletons fault
Like everything, we watch with interest to see what unfolds, but would be very surprised now to see Ruel in an orient shirt next season

He should look at how all the young strikers who left us over the last few years have fared. None have gotten close to breaking into the first teams of the sides they've joined, even Koroma. Appreciate they'll all have got pay bumps but in terms of career progression, doesn't seem to have done them any favours. That said, if it is a club like Peterborough that Ruel goes to, then he'll have a realistic pathway to regular football.

The club going public like this - absolving themselves of any blame and putting it all on the player - is officially the end of things.
How sh*tty can things have been for the relationship to get to this stage?
Also worth noting that we offered a contract back in November, at which point he wasn't even deemed worthy of a place in our first team squad. So you can only imagine how derisory the offer was.

Also, look forward to us drawing Peterboro in the cup at some point over the next 3 years and watching Embleton lose his sh*t and get sent off after Ruel scores against us and gives it to us fans.

I like the club coming out with this.
Over to you Ruel. Ball's in your court fella.
